Absolute rofls, thought this very same thing myself today. Was showing the DVD to my gf, getting her schooled in the ways and thought "that tune is b1ggl3z".

edit: also wondering what that tune is when Durrty Goodz is going round Big Apple.

Also the tune playing in the background at transition studios?
Anyone got an ID on these two tunes yet?

just saw this last night.

now if you know the drama between me and this forum, save your comments for later.

this is and was a meeting place for every producer/dj mentioned in the documentary. having plastician say 'check out these spots that used to have parties' seems like a silly way to start the film, given the magnitude of the genre at this point. furthermore, the lack of documentation (even a photo montage?) of these events OR pirate radio station set-ups OR the progression of studio equipment is an annoyance to say the least.

and while I understand that the whole point is to trace this movement to its roots, there was also footage of Brazil and Holland. The U.S. seems to be the second-biggest scene at this point, as far as events go. Seems pitiful that guys like Joe Nice and Sub-U and Seen that were up on things as they were happening got ignored IMO.

Maybe next time another film is documenting the scene, you could put up some cash for them to cover their time and resources needed in making a doc just the way you want, maybe you could even get on the blower to a few of the early heads and work out a proposed script for filming at a set location of your choice.

if you want your side of dubstep represented, make your own film, or find someone who can! HD cameras are cheap, editing is cheap, and video promotion is free!

this idea that filmmakers must cover every inch of a global sound is ubsurd! no one film can capture a whole community within a genre of music. there's about 50 movies on reggae, and they're all examining different aspects of it, but there's not one that captures all of it. it's impossible, and more importantly people can sit and point fingers at film producers, but most people have no idea how many hours of footage and grind it takes to make a 30min film.

I disagree. Especially as far as events go. Because of our geographic limitations, I think Western-Europe (and Eastern too perhaps) get far more, better accessible and higher quality events than most of the United States. Don't want to turn this into a pissing contest though. Let's also not forget Australia and New Zealand, although some of the acts down there do raise my eyebrows :) .
