Just finished a tune I've been working on for the past week, it's called "New Beginnings", my soundcloud link is in my sig....

Sounds like needs a stronger bassline bro. Are you wanting a wobble or just real chilled kinda sub bass through the whole thing?Tramic wrote:I feel completely stuck on this track (Chance Time), and would love some feedback.

Thanks for the input! I'll return the favor.Bradicle wrote:Also want feedback on mine please someone. Anything to add? I need more variation, but other than that?.

Recon HxDb doing a remix of this tune, so so epic tune.Dr-Zitbag wrote:My attempt at a nice mellow track inspired by the great Robert Miles,
Still in the work in progress stage nees more effects, eqing and a little tender love.
Let me know what you think.

sound very nice to me what youve done so far, (dont know if you allready have thought about it) but i'd love if you just soaked the piano in reverb, normally i wouldnt use that much reverb but in this case i think it would fit so much better in the mix, especially when theres reverb on the drums to.
speaking of reverb heres a new tune of mine in which i actually used a pretty lot of reverb, its actually done but not mastered yet, would like to know if theres anything i could do better before i get i mastered.
Turn up the volume its mixed fairly low.

do you mean that i should do something to the sound of the bass, or just add some more patterns for variation?Dr-Zitbag wrote:trike12 wrote:Recon HxDb doing a remix of this tune, so so epic tune.Dr-Zitbag wrote:My attempt at a nice mellow track inspired by the great Robert Miles,

Thanks, it's only my second tune so still learning
Ok, your tunes sounding nice from what i hear so far although a little quiet?
And maybe you could add a bit more to the bassline cos it seems to repeat alot IMO, and possibly in the second drop really mix it up but not so much as to turn it into a different track alltogether.
Apart from that it's sounding nice IMO but I'm no expert

quietness is because i saved Db for mastering, its gonna go up to normal level when mastered
i guess you mean equalizing when you say "learn frequenzies",Dr-Zitbag wrote:trike12 wrote:do you mean that i should do something to the sound of the bass, or just add some more patterns for variation?Dr-Zitbag wrote:trike12 wrote:Recon HxDb doing a remix of this tune, so so epic tune.Dr-Zitbag wrote:My attempt at a nice mellow track inspired by the great Robert Miles,

Bass is fine I think, more variation or add a synth melody over the top maybe?
I don't have the jist of mixing or mastering atall yet I'm trying to leanr how to do frequencies in Reason, proving a stumbling block for me at the moment, could do with some help on this "hint hint"![]()
Although too much could ruin it
I like it man, levels could do with a tweak, I reckon more bass wouldn't go a miss, and maybe replicate that bassline an octave down to make it more deep and subby? Other than that I like it, nice samplestappard wrote:Synth-based track ive been working on today, let me know what you think guys

Yeah I know about that it's just, the mixer on Reason doesn't el as it doesn't give an indication as to how the frequencies are. I know you can get a general idea off using bv-15's but still you don't get a great view on what exact frequencies they're playing on.trike12 wrote:i guess you mean equalizing when you say "learn frequenzies",Dr-Zitbag wrote:trike12 wrote:do you mean that i should do something to the sound of the bass, or just add some more patterns for variation?Dr-Zitbag wrote:trike12 wrote: Recon HxDb doing a remix of this tune, so so epic tune.

what i know, ive learned from this thread:
http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=74832
and from the EQ section in the dubstep production bible, and im not done reading any of them yet as im not the biggest reader, im trying along with reading them, works for me, though im to slack sometimes.
oh, okay. dont really know anything about reason, tried it in a short period of time then resold my copy to return to fl studio, thought fl studio was the reason my tunes were sounding weak, back then i didnt know about gain structure and EQ so i wouldnt care about the problem youre talking about.Dr-Zitbag wrote:Yeah I know about that it's just, the mixer on Reason doesn't el as it doesn't give an indication as to how the frequencies are. Cheers for taking a listen man. The wobble in this is really cool actually, I fnd half the challenge with wobble basslines is 'visualising' the way itll sound through a big club system and this feel like it'd translate great.jjbutler88 wrote:Got a new tune I'm working on, first attempt at a proper wobbler, would be really interested in what you guys think. Its not my usual bag but I think its going quite well so far.
