Oh forgive me, I was under the impression that people who used sample packs actually chose which of the pack's samples they used and chose what to do with them. Didn't realize a sample pack was just a batch of pre-made tracks for them to put their names on as you seem to be implying.

Britain is in a state of self denial, sitting at the bottom of European league tables, but convinced it still rules the waves. The aspirations of the SNP may seem ambitious, but all they are really proposing is to be a normal European country.
Article sums up a lot of my feelings on the UK in the context of the rest of Europe, and our post-imperial delusions.

If you say so, but I only have an understanding of the national psyche of one of those countries, so could not speak for the others. That said, I'd be very surprised to find that that underlying superiority complex is quite as prevalent elsewhere in Europe as it is here. I've never seen a French bloke in London simply talk in LOUDER FRENCH in an attempt to make an English person understand them

I don't think that is a sense of superiority, I think it is a form of mental retardation.

I think the French are even more arrogant than British people tbh, never had other people so outright angry and swear at me just for being English... at least they have a higher standard of living and a general sense of equality (their racism really needs sorting out though).

The UK's problems come from Thatcher tbf, all militaristic nationalism and no social or economic solidarity... if we had a proper socialist government that actually represents what people want like rail nationalisation etc then people in Scotland wouldn't want to go I reckon.

not enough people are patient enough to let Salmond keep rallying either though, I'm sure people in the SNP started calling for a new leader as soon as they heard the results

I think Salmond was one of the biggest obstacles to the Yes vote personally, he just seemed like such an unbearable tnuc it must have put a lot of people off

Aye and people kept saying it wasn't a vote for Salmond, despite him being the first minister. Although, now we're gonna get landed with Nicola Sturgeon, which tbh is even worse, lying tnuc.

french or parisian? two very different things. I wouldn't call the french arrogant.
and standard of living is pretty low tbh. central france is completely dry. no jobs, all bars & cafés close at 7 because young people move to Paris / Bordeaux / Strasbourg ... and the old ones don't have enough money to pay for a beer once every two weeks...

that's what happens when only 52% of your population pays taxes.

well Skream was caught basically blatantly using loops from a sample pack while doing fuck all to it. Not like just using one hits or whatever from a pack like most people do

From an english perspective (which means I could well be talking out of my tea drinking queen loving arsehole!), it just seemed like Salmond did all this to create some kind of personal legacy for himself, so he could say that he was the first prime minister of an independent scotland, as opposed to actually benefitting anyone else.

Don't know much about Nicola Sturgeon apart from she's been providing gentle and supportive head to Salmond for the past decade or so. Would anyone care to enlighten me a bit more about what she's like?

On a side note I actually thought Alistair Darling ran the No campaign really well, seemed to realise they couldn't match the Yes guys for charisma and idealism, so he just called bullshit on everything they said with cold hard facts, my respect for the guy went up a lot.

So much this, every time I've been to France the French have been a bunch of rude dicks, last time I went to France me and my brother nearly got into a fight with a group of French lads because apparently we were sat on "their bench" and they took umbrage with this and started trying to act intimidating towards us, for the record nobody with a French accent has ever been intimidating in any way, it was pretty funny really, especially when the main guy got taken off by the gendarmerie

Any French people I've met outside of France have been absolutely fine but for some reason if I as an Englishman go to France the French act like a bunch of unbearable wankers towards me
