what sucks is when people try to copy Datsik to an extreme amount.

talk about boring ryhtyms! these datsik posers are a joke.

seckle is correct, everyone just wants attention, the biggest problem is COPYCAT shit.

i hate when i hear a sick intro and then the drop is like the exact same tough guy rhythm as every other formula-based tune.

take the first 4 bars of a drop,

3 bars repeated and then on the 4th bar staccato the 2 3 and 4 beat of the last measure.

CORNY CORNY shit!!

i got into dubstep cuz the rhythms on the drops would blow my mind cuz i didnt see shit coming.

nothing more i hate than datsik posers :? :?

BE ORIGINAL, come from the heart, have a purpose behind your music.

yargh.

that being said,

i dont think "Hardstyle" is a bad way to describe harder dubstep.

richie august is original as hell, his synths sound fucking awesome! but i dont want his tunes to be degraded by people posing his sound.

personally i LOVE heavy heavy shit, because i WAS into grindcore type shit, and still do love it, and also because it sounds SICK on a soundsystem.

it is hard to switch between dubstep styles tho when mixing, you have to find very creative solutions.

and another thing, radio is so much different than playing out its not even funny.

@yong - stop being a weiner about it tho would ya? yeesh. you sound like a pansy no offense.

i think people need to do a lot of old interview reading on the net, have a knowledge about where this sound came from, who created it, what the ethics were etc.

and i think mala still says it best when he says each artists, each soundsystem should be judged on its own merits eg. DMZ Sound, Yong Sound, Richie August Sound, ABZ Sound, etc etc etc etc.

i for one appreciate it all.

Isnt Datsik really new to the scene though? and he took a bit of his style from excision. I dont think anyones really making the Datsik/Excision sound but the rottun camp and a few others. Show me some stuff If im wrong.

Anyways Im going to see Excision & Datsik tag team set in a bar on Sept 18 and again at an outdoor party the next day. Its gonna be FILTHY!!!!

Same here. Even If I dont like a ceratin type of Music I appreciate it for how it makes other people feel and react. Any positive reaction from Music on anyone is a good thing IMO. Punk Music is and always will be my favourite music just cuz of the way it makes me feel and since i was a young lad Ive been into hardcore punk. If people are getting down to a ceratin type of tunes you dont like doenst mean they are shit. Just "shit" to you.

tbh the reason i posted this thread was because of digi tunes releases

I just kinda made it in a digi-tunes and a-certain-radio-station induced rage.

yea i do kinda sound like a pansy looking back on it.

"filth" probably isn't the right word. and my thread obviously went in the wrong direction cause of dispute as to what I was referring to.

I hate these fucking whining threads.

no body is forcing you to listen to certain sounds... listen to what you like!
Yeah but if I wanna go see dubstep, and the flier says dubstep, and it's "filth" shit, I don't wanna be there.

It's a different crowd really.
Yong your like 16 bruv, so your not going to many shows are you.

Seeing that your part of a radio station that thrives on the filth this thread is a bit silly no?
He doesnt go to many shows, but I know what he's saying... you dont have to go to shows to understand whats going on. Im getting pretty tired of every tune at a "dubstep" show sounding like every tune did at a "dnb" show 4 years ago.

I was one of the people in the "nah, its all dubstep, innit" camps for the longest time, but Im sorry... theres just too damn much music with too many influences now.

These threads remind me of this hypothetical conversation...

"I listen to rock".
"Oh really, what kind of rock? Punk, metal, pop, grunge, lo-fi, indie?"
"Nah mate, I said I listen to rock, you know, rock... with guitars."
"Right, right, I get that... but what kind do you like the most?"
"What you mean, like the most... I like it all, I listen to it all... its all just rock..."
"Ok then, who do you like?"
"Oh right... I Tool, Killswitch Engage, Mastadon... "
"So you like metal?"
"NO YOU TWAT, I LIKE ROCK! ROCK! DONT YOU GET IT? ITS ALL ROCK, IT DONT NEED NO SUBGENRES!!!"

There is such a diverse range of styles represented in this wonderful music that all falls under the umbrella term of 'dubstep' that there needs to be a bit more distinction, if only for the ease of discussion and to be sure you know what you're getting into and paying your money for.

Look at house... theres what? 25+ different styles of house? But they're all recognizable as house, and classifying it into different catagories hasnt hurt the genre, not in the least.

All this ambiguity is only confusing matters IMO.

Then go to different shows, it's not like you arn't spoilt for choice in LA.

The thing that really makes me laugh about threads like this is that the filth has been in dubstep since day one, I guess the moaners wern't around then to know this though so the result ends up being 'I wanna hear more of what I like', so go find it because it's out there in abundance.
You totally missed my point.
