I use ableton live 8 lite and circle a pretty rubbish set up but i get by maybe ill buy fl studio 9 producer after christmas as i kinda need a sound card too. i say fl studio 9 instead of live intro because live intro isn't much different in features too live lite well enough for me to feel i need it unlike live 8 where it is greatly different but then thats why it costs a lot more

Ugh, why go with FL??

Such a clunky interface.

Reaper is cheaper and has a quicker workflow! :)

Why not demo both?

FL works better for my workflow.

As for heavyweight synths, I want this.

Fl studio is supposed to be simple and i am used to ableton so it should be fine, on the topic of heavyweight synths massive was reduced by 50 percent but the deals off and i didnt get it which is dissapointing. get fl studio and hopefully massive will drop again.

1> Grab the url for your track from Soundcloud
2> Wrap it in the Soundcloud tag

Code: Select all

[soundcloud]--->your url here<---[/soundcloud]
3> Paste it in your signature strip which can be done in the user control panel section of DSF.

Peace

Jesus Christ, this is feature packed to a disgusting degree. This'll either be my favorite synth ever, or just too damn much for me.

if it's just the look of it that doesn't grab you then it does come with 4 different skins.

i'm a bit more concerned with the bugs that were mentioned on another thread about this synth.

Yea it's wicked for sure. Still no word on the fx not really working. The crashing is caused by opening the vst in ableton while ableton is playing. So I just don't do that any longer. I love layering it's 4 synths into one sound. You can get some huge stuff out of it. Plus the filters sounds stellar.

I agree with you about theinterface however i really like the drum samples that come with it plus it has a lot of synths all though i've not found any i'm too fond of yet as i cant seem to make my own sounds int the demo on most of them reaper is free though isn't it? i need lots of high quality effects plus good drum samples.

does operator come with ableton live 8 not suite as i've been given a good upgrade price by ableton of 229 euros £190 which sounds pretty good to me for the download of live 8 or 279 roughly £230 for the boxed. i really like ableton a lot but the drum samples i have currently are lacking but live 8 should have high quality drum samples no? i've tried out fl studio and i dont find it easier to use than ableton live it's poorly laid out imo compared to ableton and controlling effects is a nightmare.

operator is only in suite although you could buy it seperately.

protip - most people don't use the drum samples that came with their DAW.

it's not your only option as you've just put other options. most people will have a decent selection of sample packs, ableton comes with a sampler (simpler) and you could get a drum synth aswell. i'm not sure which if any synths you get with ableton if you get the non-suite version but there are a few free drum synths out there if you have a look.

there are plenty of high quality drum samples out there if you take the time to find them.
