nothingno wrote:No, you went for safe and verify (unsafe!) you should have done fast scan (recommend). I forget why Gol put scan and verify as an option but don't use it as that will happen to you.

As a guide line don't use the one that says unsafe after it lol

What he said, safe and verify tends to crash 90% of the time.

You could also set a secondary VST directory, which is in Options > File at the box at the bottom

Ive been trying to use an actual Sidechain Comperssor in fl and send the signal of a sound thru it... u know, some vsts are made for sidechaining...

still cant achieve it.. the only way i can is with the peak controller (which in a sense is.. made for sidechaining)... id luv to use some compression unit tho... for various reasons (trust me im not just noobing around)

thx

Have you tried using Gross Beat? It's an inbuilt VST included with FL Studio 9 and it allows you to sidechain/gate your chosen audio track via an FX channel.. this is how I do most of my sidechaining, because you can customize the curves (plus Attack and Release) so that you can get the sidechain compression sounding exactly how you want it to.

Failing that, there is another method using Fruity Peak Controller.. follow the steps on the vid below.. this is the most traditional way of using sidechain compression in FL Studio.

You could also use the Fruity Limiter as it was made with side chaining in mind.

Look up the limiter here to see more about it.

Ldizzy you said peak controller which is not the same as the Fruity Limiter. Those are two different plug ins. The Peak Controller is the older of the two while Fruity Limiter is newer and which FL9 they added built in side chaining with it.

Taken from the online help file from the Fruity Limiter,

"The Fruity Limiter is a powerful single band Compressor (with sidechain), Limiter & Gate. To access the relevant limiter and compressor controls"

Signal Flow:
The signal flow goes from the input to the Compressor (COMP), Gain, Limiter (with integrated Noise Gate), Saturation (SAT) and finally to the plugin output.

Are you talking about songs that you made on your laptop and moved over to your new computer?

If so, did you zip the files from FLS itself by file, export, zipped loop package on your laptop then move the zip files to your new pc and open them in FLS? If so that will save all of your samples in the zip file so it won't lose them.

An other way to do if, if you have already moved anything is to try to remap all of the samples and then save the song as a different version. That should save the samples and where they are mapped on your HD on your new PC.

If you have installed all of the plug ins on your new PC and have refreshed your plug in list and added them on the list then they should still be there every time you open FLS. I am talking about Channel,More,Refresh, check box to add to plug in list.

Is there a way so i can have the sample stop playing when i take my finger off the key? For example i have a wav sample of a pad but continues playing when i've lifted my finger of the key.

If you use the fruity granulizer or whatever its called thats one way to do it, and another better way is to open the ins tab on the sample and just turn the attack down on the envelope and it should be to your likings :]
