Your baptism will be delivered gently Wednesday by a few dozen demonstrators near the entrance to your Palo Alto manse, where you will enter the political world by hosting a fundraiser for GOP New Jersey Governor and 2016 — it’s never too early! — presidential hopeful Chris Christie.

The ruckus will be led by the progressives at San Francisco’s own Credo Action, the same crew that targeted — and helped to defeat — several Tea Party folks who were running for Congress. They’re ticked at Zuck for supporting Christie, who they refer to as “anti-woman” (uh, even his wife and mom?) for cutting $7.4 million worth of health services, much of it targeted for women.

Actually, this is likely to be more of a demure set of demonstrators than usual. Credo’s rallying call invite includes this request to potential protesters:

This is a residential area so we will be respectfully gathering on the sidewalks around the fundraiser location and at strategic locations to get traffic coming in and out of the fundraiser itself.

By RSVPing to the event, you agree to not block private driveways or impede traffic in the street or you will be respectfully asked to leave.

Everybody now: “This is what democracy looks like!”…..but please, “respectfully gather” and don’t block any of the rich people’s driveways.

UPDATE:
Just heard from a reader who says that suggested to some would-be protesters that they hold this sign Wednesday: “Kein Zucker für Christie.”

The reader’s explanation:

“It is a multilingual play on words. The German phrase in English is “No sugar for Christie,” but the German word for sugar, Zucker, is the first part of Zuckerberg’s name (which sounds like “Sugarmountain” to people who understand German). Also, “sugar” fits the term “sugar daddy,” which is what Christie is figuratively looking for, but Christie could really do without sugar in his diet given his considerable girth.”

Only in Palo Alto.
