Why can't we all just be dutch

Weed is illegal in Holland so we are (in a way) like the Dutch.

In Holland it's:
It's legal to own 5 grams, it's legal to carry 5 grams anytime,
it's legal to smoke it in a coffeeshop or at home, it's legal to have
5 plants and for a proprietor it's legal to sell it.
What makes it a policy of tolerance is the question of how
a proprietor gets his stuff. There's the gray part of the law right there.

How much does it cost for a houseboat on a lovely canal in Holland?
I want a floating studio like Dave Gilmour
and +1 for legalisation.
(Even if the gov't did have a stake in it, it wouldn't be so bad, as tonnes of people would just homegrow that shit!)

definitely this. people who care too much about getting high are endlessly dull. yeah i enjoy it but not so much i wanna talk about it all the time.
and it being illegal makes it all the more fun to try and find; treat it like a spy game people

I think if anything quality would decrease for the average grow. I'm much happier getting it from someone who grows cannabis because they
love cannabis (not just smoking it, but the plant as a whole) than from someone who is growing it just to make money. Those types of people cut corners and generally don't go the extra mile to ensure they have a quality product. I also seriously doubt there will be any increase in accidents or "addictions". If any, I would say way less than the amount you have every year when people become of age to buy/drink alcohol. I don't think that many more people would start to smoke it either just because it's "legal". There might be an initial surge, but to be honest it's easy to get right now and the laws are so relaxed in a lot of places that there's really nothing stopping people today.

This is true also, it's definitely not for everyone. Not just because of that, but because the effects it has on people can vary, especially if they have underlying mental health issues. It (any substance really) can harm them further, drive them deeper into the illness. Of course the opposite is also true, it has the potential to cure these things, but this is something that should be done and monitored under a health professional's observation. Plus it simply turns some people into useless couch potato zombies sadly.

I've quoted it before and im gunna quote it again!
'You see me!
I and I will never fight down,
Anything created by the Most High.
And you see marihuana,
It was a plant created by God.
Some say dem love God,
But dem nuh love marihuana,
How could that be?
Are you crazy!?
Are you crazy!?'
'So if you feel away about the herb,
Let it be positive all the time.
If you feel away about the herb,
Remember that its creation divine.'
Legalize.

Nah, you have your clogs on back to front my young tulip farmer
Marijuana is illegal in the Netherlands:
The myth of it's legality stems from the fact that, while still illegal, it is officially tolerated under a policy called "gedoogbeleid".
Basically, while still illegal, it is officially tolerated in small quantities and only in certain areas.
It's tolerated, but still illegal, to buy marijuana at a coffeeshop and to smoke it there. It is also tolerated for home use, but, it's only up to 5 plants or 5 grams.
[For more detailed information, see:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_polic ... etherlands
or
http://www.smokingholiday.com/site/inde ... drugpolicy]
One of the reasons for this unusual policy is that The Netherlands has international treaties which prohibit it from legalising marijuana.
-- Edited by Scientist Keith to remove the false claim that Marijuana is legal in The Netherlands and to include references to more detailed information.

Its TV or any kind of reflected light that does that. Cannabis makes people more creative.

They can get it legal though.
Firky wrote:Tolerated
Tolerated == "It's illegal but we won't say anything, wink wink"
In all seriousness, tolerated is just legal. If coffeeshops really were illegal they wouldn't exist.
It would be like having a shop were you can order assassins to kill people.

dkdubz wrote:i do smoke alot myself but i dont really know whereever to legalize or not. Ppl comparing to alchol may say that its healthier etc. but from my personal experience weed changes your persona alot more than alchohol does (in weekdays etc) in a non-positive way. (having no energy, only wanna be with smoker friends and the list goes on) You may say that weed doesnt make you dumb, but sorry to say, in my experience really does make you slower and dumber... if you dont agree with this you either lack non-smoker friends or a rare exception

Weed only starts changing your persona when you are smoking every day (and more than one zoot a day).
But that's the same with alcohol too actually. My uncle used to be a good guy, but then he started drinking.
Weed should stay illegal in my opinion but as they said the punishments for it shouldn't be that high. And it wouldn't bother me either when they banned alcohol.
