I agree with you. I think VintageWarmer is overused for the wrong purposes. As an effect - it can be cool. As an overall mix solution - I think it creates more problems than it fixes.

are you on about using it on the 2 track out? or just over using it in different elements?

With saturation you gotta pick your battles, using it on everything and anything is gonna leave you with one mushy mix, using it on the odd harsh clinical sounding synth can get some nice results, or just as a little something for the drums

Yep - as I said... as the odd effect here and there it can be great. I just cringe when I hear it full blast on the master, track after track.

rough rider is wicked but i've had issues where, at extreme settings, it won't catch on until a few full transients have passed. sometimes have to bounce out and replace bits that didn't make it thru.... still, completely worth the "price" as a wicked flavor compressor!

There is a paid 3 multiband version, btw.
