when you are born you are not self aware, if you don't have any sensorial input you can't make the step to self awareness i guessPedro Sánchez wrote:Cogito, ergo sum probably applies there.resketch wrote:Do you reckon if a person was born with no sensor input so no sight, hearing, touch, smell or taste. could be right thinking about it. probably why it raises a few morality questions.alien pimp wrote:when you are born you are not self aware, if you don't have any sensorial input you can't make the step to self awareness i guessPedro Sánchez wrote:Cogito, ergo sum probably applies there.resketch wrote:Do you reckon if a person was born with no sensor input so no sight, hearing, touch, smell or taste. apparently this is the function of sleep, dreams being a kind of brain regulatorsfirky wrote:Everyone dreams.
Yeah this basically. I asked my biology professor what a person who was born blind, deaf, and mute would dream because they would have never heard or seen anything. I asked because me and a friend got into a debate about this very question. It turns out they would dream touches, scents, and body positions like sitting, standing, laying down. Such a bland life.defekt wrote:Blind people who could see before have visual and auditory dreams, but blind people who were born blind only have auditory dreams unless they're deaf, then I can't imagine what they'd dream of, probably visuals they conjure in their head from feeling different textures?alien pimp wrote:are dreams just visual?

They are always tripping.evil madmen wrote:Wonder if blind people can trip
everyone dreams, some people just don't remember them at all. you also only dream when you're in the very light sleep stage just before you wake up (and maybe when you have just dropped off, i cant remember)signals wrote:not everyone dreams

Haha, that's exactly how I describe closed eye visuals to friends when I'm going through hardcore synaesthesia style trips.parson wrote:"geometric patterns that are made outta love." - Joe Rogan
