hows that? when im sayin that certain musics shud be kept underground, and out of the media's attention, inorder to keep it pure. i think if you went away and thought about it long enough and hard enough, youd realise that wat im sayin is fueled by a desire to keep the music i love alive and good, as opposed to to destroyin it.tomm wrote:dude was nominated for a mercury music prize, he's had radio exposure and people do know about his music. get off of that high horse, champ. people are entitled to the chance to hear whatever music is out there. it's people like you that damage a scene more than the people that happily go about hearing what they want.
I got into dubstep, coincidentally through Burial via iTunes single of the week. At the time i was listening to such MOS discs and other general 'commercial' music. Going back to your original post, does this make me a prick?kianm wrote:no your right, but come on lets be real, if they really wanted to learn a bit more about 'dubstep' with a bit of research, they cud have discovered burial and listened to both of his albums, all in the space of like 3hours. i dont really think theyd care much too do that though
wow you are an elitist fuckhead, if you like a certain music then listen to it don't fuckin worry what other people are listening to. If you like the artists you shuld support them and show their music to other people not keep it to yourself and get mad when more people listen to it.kianm wrote:fair enough, and in an ideal situation, we'd have a cd full loefah, distance, mala ect.. but thats not the case, and to be honestly im kinda glad because when it comes down to it WE HAVE BETTER MUSIC TASTE THAT YOUR AVERAGE JOE, straight.and i dont want everyone knowing about it. i like the fact that im the only person i know except my girl that listens to burial (and even then i show him to her), i just wish they wudnt expose everyone to such good music.
So by your logic If an artist makes a tune and its heard by few people its pure but once the SAME EXACT TUNE gets popular its suddenly destroyed? Its the same fucking tune ffs. If producers didn't want their music to be heard they would not release it, give it to other DJs or even show it to anyone. Most people who make music do it so other people can hear their creation and get something from it.kianm wrote: hows that? when im sayin that certain musics shud be kept underground, and out of the media's attention, inorder to keep it pure. i think if you went away and thought about it long enough and hard enough, youd realise that wat im sayin is fueled by a desire to keep the music i love alive and good, as opposed to to destroyin it.
first of all fuck off. secondly, are you tryin to be stupid? this is my point, i HAVE tried to spread the word, be MOST people think its shit, which is the problem. please learn to read before you attack my arguement i explained this a few posts back.prickDark Reign wrote:wow you are an elitist fuckhead, if you like a certain music then listen to it don't fuckin worry what other people are listening to. you think that the compilation is balanced.hahaha peace yeh you mugCollisionCourse wrote:let me get this straight, your getting sore because your afraid some people that dont normally listen to your kind of dubstep, stuff which you somehow think is better than the rest, might listen to it because they play what is, in my opinion, a balanced (granted there are some shit tunes on it) dubstep compilation? sorry mate but you sound like a narrow minded idiot.
But isnt the release also showing "good music to a large audience' AND "poorly produced music to the mainstream" at the same time?Luke Yeah? wrote:I think i understand the point the original poster is trying to make but feel he has got the wrong idea. Good music being shown to a large audience isn't the issue. The issue is poorly produced music being shown to the 'mainstream' and them then accepting this as the only style/sound/type etc of dubstep there is.
i agree with the second part, but dont you think is a bit of a waste for good music to be shown to a large audience if most of that audience is not goin to appreciate it?Luke Yeah? wrote:I think i understand the point the original poster is trying to make but feel he has got the wrong idea. It is yes and in regards to this release it is up to the listener to decide what strand, if any, of dubstep most appeals to them. Idea of the compilation i guess. But as a general argument i feel my point is valid.babylonburn wrote:But isnt the release also showing "good music to a large audience' AND "poorly produced music to the mainstream" at the same time?Luke Yeah? wrote:I think i understand the point the original poster is trying to make but feel he has got the wrong idea. I dont think i follow you....
But then there are those few who appreciate it...kianm wrote:i agree with the second part, but dont you think is a bit of a waste for good music to be shown to a large audience if most of that audience is not goin to appreciate it?Luke Yeah? wrote:I think i understand the point the original poster is trying to make but feel he has got the wrong idea.
