yeah, there really is loads of that kind of dubstep still being made. probably 100x more than there was in 2003.
even including the evolution of wobblecore shit, i definately wouldn't describe the branching out of what has now become a heavily overdone dubstep sound, "going wrong"

Its when you got a bunch of gurning 15 year olds going to the under 16 nights to see Funtcase and Flux Pavilion (it was a pisstake that they also added Distance to that line up). old skool hardcore didn't last forever, it split into jungle and happy hardcore. jungle didn't last forever and garage went as far as it could go before people started doing other stuff with it

it is allowed to change but just not through my speakers.every man woman and child knew it wasnt going to stay the same forever thats a given as with any other type of electronic music people split and start new things but a lot people found there musical level with the older style dubstep i know i did so why cant people stop fucking it up for us with the "chainsaw" sound or whatever.and just think of the tunes that could have bean made if the sound was still the best style fuck boaring it would be DARK AS FUCK

Aside from the fact thats its a lot easier to make noise than write actual music there is the uncomfortable reality that you could be the best deep producer out there however it don't mean shit bcos if your trying to write purist bcos with that music ITS NOT ABOUT HOW GOOD YOU ARE ITS ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW. That saying could go for any kinds of music but its a lot more relevant with the purist side of the scene. A new dubstep producer without any links etc has the choice of writing deep and getting nowhere or writing jumpup and having a chance of actually getting noticed, theres also risks with writing both as any hint of "fraternising with the enemy" can ruin your chances or getting a release on a decent purist label. Ok there's a few exceptions to this but anyone actually involved in production for any length of time knows there are a lot more open doors with livlier styles of dubstep than there are with the purist sound - that goes for dealing with labels and distributors.
Ppl can say what they like about writing music you like without any consideration for anyone else but most producers like both sounds so will more often choose the livlier styles as they its a lot easier to get ahead with that sound
Word of warning to those who think that helping out their friends with the right links will get them ahead need to think really hard about whether they can actually trust that person or not as this game is full of snakes and from what ive heard it only gets worse the more ladders you climb!

Don't get me wrong i like a wide range of dubstep but more often than not you have to shift through hundreds of stupid tunes to find a dozen or so that hit it just right, the dark deep sound is still there ....... you just have to shift through the shit

Just read the first page and couldnt be bothered to read the second. Music in general evolves. It always has done and always will do, its a fact of life. If things didn't evolve they'd get old stale, boring and basically uninteresting. I for one still like the old deep and dark stuff but at the same time i can appreciate the new stuff too. I know they are many elitists here on DSF who'd bash me for this but Dub police nights at fabric (what i am missing now unfortunately) are amazing raves. Give it 2 years i think the music will change further and leave the stuff we know and love to the point it will be unrecognisable. A lot of people still put out tunes with the old school dubstep vibes but the scene has blown up and the new style is the popular stuff so that grabs the limelight. Dig deeper and you will find it!

I've been looking for something like this for what feels like years now, something to spark the initial interest I had with dubstep. For about a year now, all I've been listening to is Mystikz (in dubstep anyway) and this post has forced a resurgence!
