1. Nu Rave

Nu Rave is when rich young children 'rave' in a licensed venue, listening to average indie pop bands who call themselves Nu Rave to get the rich young kids to buy their records and make them and their record companies/the venues money.

"Hey Ollie are you coming to Koko Nu Rave night tonight, it'll be jolly good fun. We can buy GLOWSTICKS and wear colourful trousers and act all kerayzeeeeeee, then we can come back to mine and get Jeeves to russle us up a couple of VODKA AND TONICS!..... man"

imho rave and indie pop are in there own respective realms. And, it seems like most things go nowadays is you just take something that has been appealing before and market and franchise the fuck out of it. I only ask one question, your days spent raving, do you remember them in a quantitative state of how much pills you got, money spent, time wasted, or - do remember the qualitative aspects like your feelings when you looked out over a crowed of 10,000 and felt at peace with the music and people? For this reason right here and my perspective is why I find myself undercover mostly.

I was never into pills so much, more into the bass and the thrill of the illegal warehouse and all night dancing with my crew. Legal raves just seem ridiculous.

I feel that municiple, how the heck you suppose to step to indie rock is beyond me. I spent many a sober time dancing my skinny ass right off. Above all the dance aspect of raving was what made it smoothe, nu-rave almost sounds like non-rave.

nu-rave is even infiltrating the normal 'rave' climate... (well only in the posh areas)

did system at some posh private do the other night where (to be fair to them) it was pure tech/darkside dnb all night on the lawn of some mansion... but the day-glow/glowsticks were EVERYWHERE. Lots of hippy-like flailing of wrists and hands... once noisia remix the klaxons i'm never going out again.
