Personally, I don't give a fuck what anyone really thinks about the sound of my track. Its all artistic expression in the end. However, tracks can have holes in them. I usually send my track to a couple really good musician friends of mine to let me know if they hear anything glaring out at them.

I have a handful of producer buddies that I send my WIPs to. A couple give legitimate, honest feedback, while the rest either don't even bother or say the average shit like I like it. It's cool. lol
So I basically don't do it anymore, I just continue making under my personal preference

I think it helps to have other ears when you get stuck or have an element that maybe you aren't sure if it sits in the mix right and need someone who has heard the track 5000 times haha

not gonna lie I do this as well lol, my mom is harsh though if she thinks a track is shit she will make sure she says exactly that to me
I rarely show my friends my tracks though, mostly cos I know the feedbacks gonna be really watered down "yeahh its soo sick" type of thing

as much as it pisses me off when I get terrible criticism - good, accurate, conductive criticism is exactly what I want. "good track bruv" is as bad as people telling me my track is off-time when I MEANT for it to sound off time.

i make music for ME, i dont rely on any outside feedback to be a motivator, i learned a few years back in college, that you wont get ANYWHERE if you constantly second guessing youreslf and looking for others to give you affirmation.
I also dont send tracks for feedback. Me and my wife are the only ones who here any of my stuff in its infant stages... the public only heres the end prodcut. I think its tacky and lame to post WIP all the time and constantly prematuring releasing material but thats jsut my opinions.
I do enjoy reading unsolicatated feedback on my SC comments though...

good advice, i never ask feedback for any of my music ever since i want to sound the way i want to sound.. without any ideas to steer me away from being myself.
i also dont post WIPs since id rather get 2 a good organised level where i can release a tune every week or so.

I've got One freind who makes the same kind of stuff as me, so we always listen to each others work. I nitpick every little detail of his tunes, if I don't like something I'll say so (although "like" is subjective so I tend to avoid using that word). But the main reason I'm tough on him is so he'll give my work the same treatment and hopefully we can push each other forward.

I think that when i show my friends and girlfriend my music they just nod and say 'i like it'. My sister is good for feedback, sometimes hard to understand what she means. She uses a lot of random adjectives, like 'squishy' and 'bouncy' that sort of thing, though having made the track I know what she is referring to. She will say it's shit most of the time, but give reasons why.

there was a point when i was like fuck it, no one understands this shit
and made like 3 beats a day for like 2 or 3 weeks
but most sounded like shit, so i realized that you need a little help every now and again it's not bad thing
and sometimes you do just need someone to tell you it sounds good

I never ask my friends for feedback.
If I'm working on a beat, and the girlfriend is nodding her head to what I'm doing, I'll take it that I'm on the right track. Once the tune is done (or I think it's done), I'll upload to a private Soundcloud link and PM a few people on here and on Facebook who are producers themselves and who I value the opinion of.

story of my life, I swear it's a perpetual battle between me and my mom on the volume of whatever tune I'm playing
