Honestly, used to use a lot of verbs as inserts out of lazyness. F that, always on a send now, always eq'ed, even verbs w a built in eq, I'll use my own.
Really wish the dev of redline reverb didn't die... Such an amazing reverb.

oh i know there are a ton of free ones out there, and i'll probably spend a month digging deep into each of them at some point. i really like to make sure i've fully understood a piece of kit that ive already got before i go looking for something new.
although I did break that rule recently when I paid $50 for the cubase 6.5 update just to get my hands on the new retrologue and padshop synths. retrologue is my main workhorse for software synths now, and the padshop is just fucking nuts

for me, there is still a time and place for reverb as inserts. but really to use as a special effect or musically or whatever. but yes, for mixing or "creating a space" sends sends sends. never tried using parametric EQ instead of the reverbs EQ, but that is definitely something I'll be trying now

ethics teacher tell us to make an essay about a movie that shows a trial and identify the infractions to the code of ethics and lawyering during the trial. It's a north american movie.
trying to compose what should be a "singer friendly" riddim, as described by the mc.

Ull like this being a law student, so this kid in town close to mine is filing a lawsuit against a another kid who lit him up in a hockey match the the prosecution said and I quote “If this (check) was off the rink, on a public way, that is gross, negligent assault and battery

Wha? Assault and battery are both intentional torts? Negligence has nothing to do with it? Wha?
Also, that is like arguing that a boxer being punched in the ring is the victim of battery, because if he was punched like that on the street it would be battery. Redic.

was in the studio 'till 3 last nite, then back here writing bridges and mixing from 10-8, and just got back from seeing a vocalist I work with do her solo set. making music is exhausting but awesome when working with good people. It's extremely easy to get discouraged but the truth remains that the world will always need good songs.
regarding verb, always keep a spring reverb on a send-- can really help give midrangey things depth/thickness/width/whatever useless word we want to use/ without sounding 'verb-y.
try using bandpassed 1/8th-note delays rather than 'verb, as well-- reverb as an effect is great; reverb as an effort to make things feel bigger often makes them feel cheap. got a real love/hate relationship w/ verb.

what?
It's 02:30 am so my english is not at its best

I'm working with a ragga mc, we are trying to make a song together, but every time I come up with a riddim he says it's too dark, he's not feeling it, it doesn't flows well.

Because the kick will also be affected by the sidechain? You're ducking every element when you do this, or am I just not thinking right?
