After investigating the google hang out thing. It seems that we'd all need google accounts AND youtube accounts.
Would Skype be better for most people? I could then stream live on Justin.TV - though it would just be audio?
Its also not about your wealth of knowledge - everyone has an opinion and everything opinion is worth while.

I've got a google account and youtube account so I don't really care. I've never tried google hangouts so I don't know how quality it is. Tinychat's always an option using manycam to broadcast your screen and audio. But tinychat's kind of shit...
I think there's a limit on skype video calls.

Ah right. Is there any limits to google hangout apart from having to sign up?

Hangouts are limited to 10 video conference participants, with no time limit. You can also use Hangouts On Air to broadcast a hangout to many more people, though there is still a limit of 10 active participants.

hmm this is a brilliant idea ledge. I would definitely be up for this at some point if the opportunity arose. A proper decent musical/technical conversation over the web would be sick + i would learn loads

12 or 16 broadcasters at once I think. And now they removed the ability to maximize videos unless you have a pro account which is skeezy as hell. It's probably one of the most poorly designed web services I've ever come across, buggy as hell, always annoying you trying to bleed money from its users. But there's just not a lot of alternatives so it can be a necessary evil.

Hang out is the best option. I have been having a play around with it all night.
If you do a Hangout Live : It broadcasts it on the persons youtube channel who is hosting with loads of neat features like - playing youtube videos (so whoever is showing off a tune just upload it to youtube privately and stream it there..) placing other people full screen, screen sharing - so people can demonstrate DAW techniques and stuff like that. Meaning that it'll allow me to be a lot more interactive!!
Also with the integration with google+ I can have all contributors on the same private 'circle and do it as a first-come-first-serve basis for each session, though I feel 10 people at once is a bit extreme, I'd rather have 6, max.
Thoughts?

I have both a Google and Youtube account already anyway so it doesn't matter much to me. I'm pretty sure you can't have one without the other these days when making a new one. Either way, it's free and fairly simple to link your existing Youtube or Google account to the other platform so I don't see it deterring anyone seriously interested.
Ten would be pretty overkill, six seems like a good number, maybe compile a master list of names and randomly pick a few somehow. The ones who didn't get chosen could be brought in on the next broadcast if the first one goes well enough.

Just for the record I am fairly certain you basically automatically have a google plus account with any gmail/youtube/whatever account which you can use for google hangout, so it's very easy to set up.. you can also create a group etc
