IMO there's much better things to see at carnival, would like to see Jr Gong though.

They're usually fairly lax about ID, as long as your sister doesn't look like she's 12. Otherwise it's 18.

About 8 hours ago, I came home from my first trip to London, which was also my first overseas trip without mine or a friend's parents along. Just me and my best mate for six days.

Had a great damn time. Went to a pretty good DNB night with dBridge and Doc Scott at Fire (shouts to any ninjas that was there!), hooked up with a busty Brazillian chick in my youth hostel, bought some sick records including the new Kahn & Neek and some old Source Direct, had Nando's, took a cable car across the Thames, chilled in Hyde's Park, and had a pint in Brixton.

RECOMMEND! :W:

I loved it, there both days and have been for about the last 8 years. Thought CMC Matrix was quality- some proper hyped crowd with Skibadee. Meat Katie at Pineapple Tribe was quality too. Digital Soundboy was good but a bit too crowded, Gladdy Wax was decent, and loads others.

Shit, its 1million people over the 2 days with about 40 static systems and about 40 mobile systems around what is usually one of the poshest bits of London all playing bass heavy dance music and the Police let you smoke in the street, bring your own over-proof booze and whatever else without getting hasssled. Skank in the sun with a proper mix of Londoners....for free! What's not to love!

..........i think it's a disgrace that people like Rodigan want to go ahead and make ££ of something that has been promoting Reggae and London community inclusiveness for years for no profit, it's a London institution right up there with Pirate radio for being something that makes London special. Anyone paying to go to a stage is helping to slowly push it into being the same as any other sanitised festival.
