Have you actually sat down and listened to the drums and broke them down.

Changes :

Kick : 808 or a 909 filtered top end, bit of reverb. Kick on the 1st and 2nd kick on the 2nd beat are pitched a bit above the rest.

Shakers/tambo : quite a simple sound just processed nicely and pitched to avoid monotony.

Snare : sounds like a perc hit, maybe a wood block or a conga hit? PItched down and a normal electronic snare layered. touch of reverb sitting on the mid end.

Percussion : get some good quality perc packs.

Not to take any from the track cause its fucking genius but the drums are just well processed, layered and sequenced with care.

An interesting read, thank you. I would have never managed to analyze a track in this way, I guess I lack years of experience.

Can you personally recommend any?

Every coki snare is basically a punchy snare pitched down with a sizzle innit (claps). that pshhhhhhhhh
haymaker
demonator
goblin

that sort of sound, just pitch down your sample with some verb.

Mala is a different story though.

but do your tracks sound sick?

writing quality music > having the ability to identify 9 snares out of 10

i know people with amazing bits of hardware and loads of audio engineering knowledge whose music sounds like crap
[+] Spoiler
if you're having fun and enjoying writing music for YOU then fair enuff i cant chat to u but it's just funny how people can get sucked into audio tech and lose sight of the main objective

Man I was just stating that in order to provide such an analysis your ears must be trained over many years... That's all I said, I did not claim this is more important than writing quality music :)
