vex'd definitely used ableton as one of their tools at dubwar this past fall. really, really intense. Stereotyp @ the last subswara in december, as well-- really pushing the boundaries of the whole tempo-equals-genre thing.

stateside-dubstep and dubwize, Secret Agent Gel and Kush Arora have done things live that have all but taken my head off, screwed my face around and put it back on upside down. Blurring the lines between djing and producing and really adding an edge of to-the-moment creativity in live performances. Everything's up for grabs and as a listener, i find it really exciting.

Plus i hear the chicks really dig ableton, so that's a plus.

saw Wonder do a leptop set at FWD a few months back which was wicked. kept on fucking around with effects, makes for some amazing mixes and blends. stuff you could just never achieve with vinyl.

Echowreck out of Austin has a couple of mixes up on his site where he used Live to mix it. Seems like he has the right idea, if your going to use Live why not chop/shuffle and rearrange the compositions, things that are virtually impossible to do on a normal turntable set up.

Check out my ableton mix

Featuring the cream of the scene and unheard Kalorific beats. I also
managed to make room for the 1983 kraftwerk banga "tour de france"
for added pleasure

I tried to mix some tunes on Ableton once but I find it impossible to line up the beats so it cues properly... maybe its my shit computer but there's a delay inbetween cueing a tune up and it starting- maybe only a second but that's enough to fuck up the mix.

actually serato is one of the more stable platforms i have ever played on. the slowdown thing has happened to a friend of mine, and it seems to have something to do with a shitty cable... :/
