On a side note: Batman Forever was on the telly on Sunday afternoon when I got up after a heavy night - painfully entertaining in it's utter shitness. 99% sure it entertaining only because I was still twisted. Astoundingly shit movie.
Is that the Val Kilmer one? I watched that on acid and nearly keeled over laughing. Near the end there is a totally unnecessary shot of his arse....

Nah it's the one with Uma, Arnie, Throbbin and Batgirl. Funnily enough I was on acid though. The lighting on the movie was FUCKING ridiculous! Pink and yellow everywhere. Ravetastic.

I had a wicked 2000AD comic from when I was a kid, it was Judge Dredd vs. The Dark Knight. Some absolutely amazing imagery in that.

YES KINS! illness, anything which features the dark knight, written by the man himself Alan Moore is good in my book.
For all DARK comic fans check out "ArkhaM Asylum" more gritty gotham maddness about an insane asylum that gets over run with mental patients led by the Joker.
check these flicks

I thought Batman Begins was mainly based on 'Batman: Year One'?
This film looks incredible, everything I'd hoped for in a Batman film that's not 'The Killing Joke'.
Arkham Asylum is a cool book Frank, Dave McKean drawings are incredible, although the plot isn't great.

yea man, cool concept though and the drawings are SICK!
Hmmm I thought "batman begins" was based on "DRK:The Dark knight" and "The Dark Knight" the film was based on "DRK:The Dark Knight Returns" could be wrong though.

Havent had the chance to see it yet myself, but it broke both the opening day box office and opening weekend records, both previously held by Spideman 3... and all the people Ive talked to said its amazing, a must see and that Ledger gets completely lost in the Joker. If all goes well I will be seeing it this weekend if not sooner.

They look pretty cool man. I couldn't find the name of the artist that did the one I was talking about, I seem to remember there being two guys cos the style changed halfway...
Man, I might have to drive home and dig out all my old 2000ADs. ABC Warriors, Slaine....There was another one with some brick shit house robot that battered everything, something 5 I think it was called. That was ace too.
Edit: It was called Maniac 5. I'm getting a new avatar!

if you think batman is too dark, then clearly it's not for you!
this is going to be utterly sick! Christopher Nolan is an extremely talented director, he really has a midas touch... i am green with envy of those who are gonna see it on an imax, only ever seen a lame documentary on the history of texas on an imax screen, and it was fucking amazing! by the way batman forever is the one with jim carey and tommy lee jones... the one with arnie was batman & robin. and yes it was truly laughable.
re: heath ledger.. i'm fairly confident his performance will be pretty excellent, from what i've seen and heard he put his heart and soul into it. It's a bit sad though cos apparantly he was very unsatisfied with his performance, and had a hard time finding the right tone for the character. I think talk of a posthumous oscar would be a bit silly really considering the joker is hardly the most deep and meaningful character you could hope to play. i guess we will see how much presence he brought to the role...

not that i know of... but The Prestige is one of my favourite films of all time. such an incredible symmetry to the story, and another powerhouse performance by Christian Bale.

Christian Bale is a stupendous actor, gives 110%to any role i reckon and is a method actor to boot.

I watched 'The Machinist' the other night. Bale was like a skeleton in that...must be a very committed actor.

yea he dropped massive amounts of weight for "the machinist" then piiled it all on again for the film he done after that (might even have been batman, not sure) as the role required him to have a good physique.
besides that, I rekcon the tnuc give s astand up performance most if not all of the time.

yep it was batman begins that he had to get in shape for... unbelieveable really. apparantly he ate an apple and a can of tuna a day for months to lose weight for the machinist.
any one seen Harsh Times? I rated him in that too... the script was a bit dodgy in places but the psychotic performance he put in as a shell-shocked ex-marine was fucking scary.

I saw the Dark Knight over the weekend, it was fucking great. I thought it would be hard to watch and not compare it with Jack Nicholsons version of the joker, yet there was nothing to compare really, he is a completely different charactor, just fucking demented and evil.

Watching it here next Tuesday:

Fuck the Imax, saw Bladerunner there a couple of weeks back. Unless you are sitting in the very back row, you are too close to that hench screen. Dun know its all about your own leather armchair with wine bottle cooler built in to the seat and a foot-rest!! Shut it!!

When i was a wee lad i used to think the batman films were incredible, then as i got older and watched them back again i realized they were actually a pile of steaming shit. Except for the first one ofcourse and the last one was ok.
Hopefully this lives upto the hype
