Some big releases coming from Synk by the looks of it!
Compared to Burial isnt a bad move either is it!? Id be happy with that! haha. Key thing is, it gets away from the WOBBLE, that a majority of dubstep has copied/followed..
(Its still on repeat aswell...hahaha)

Big Up Synkro!
I've been rinsing 'Attack' and 'Jah Love' on Dubbed Out 001, love the dub vibes man!
Really liking the 2-Step flavours on the new one, nice to hear the diversity of your production. I'll be bagging 'Dont Know' when i get paid tomorrow!

I've bagged this mighty twelve inches from Boomkat today, can't wait! Probably one of the greatest releases i've heard this year, surely i have to listen to the whole tunes so i can appreciate it but it sounds deep, 2-steppy rhythms perfect for some swinging movements. Burial's comparison is quite obvious but who cares... afterall its S.Y.N.K.R.O's music and it sounds so good that in the end what remains is that this is some great record.
Big ups S.Y.N.K.R.O!

They are good, and you are good synkro, buts its just too much, i hear you when you say Burial inspires you but to take the
exact constituent elements that characterise some of his more prolific work (that he utilised to express himself in the only way he knew how and with the limited resources he had) and run them thru a sequencer aint cool.
If there was a hint of similar styles enough to dictate an influence then cool, but its just... too...blatant. Im with blackdown on this. Burial's output just seemed to be a real sincere, (innocent even) pure expression & nothing else. It just looks like you've tryed your hand at a "burial style" track, this is thrown into even starker relief by the fact that other tracks you've released also showcase yet another prevalent "style" in the general output of today. (But as pointed out above the ability to do this showcases talent and diversity on your part).
Dont take offense, this is just one opinion. You're real good at what you do & as stated comparisons to burial aint a bad thing so big up, (as you can see from this thread, i'm in the minority here, tracks getting a lotta love across the board so all the best man, stuffs getting heard!

There are loads of tunes that can be comparable to Burial. Even if he did copy Burial - he isn't the first person to do it. Alot of what you hear now is just improvements on what you heard back then.
For all we know, until Synkro posts a photo he could actually be Burial *omgz shock horror*

but to take the exact constituent elements that characterise some of Burial's more prolific work
I'm just firing out flak cos this music is being somewhat blatant about it, like i said its just
too much. These tracks dont sound like they are made by someone influenced by decades of dance music culture (not 2 say that synkro isn't, i'm talking about these tracks) inc. darker strains of garage, early jungle, & other emotive music etc. who now has real pangs to express that in their own unique way.
It sounds more like someone who was recently influenced by burial & ran all his trademark sounds thru a sequencer to see if they could make an approximation of that interesting & unique sound. It was obviously done well but Im just not buying into it.
Yes you're right there's biters & copycats out there & always have been always will be, but these tracks went so far down that road they prompted me to logon to Dstep forum & search to see how other discerning cats felt, (an unusual thing for me!) & then even prompted me to post (even more unusual!!).
If Synkro's saying that these tracks represent a sincere expression of his cumulative musical influences then thats cool, its just that they sound curiously like they are emulating the sincere expressions of another individual whose sounds we all love and thats
some coincidence. But not necessarily a bad thing...
Like i said I'm clearly in the minority, just being honest, no disrespect intended Synkro, i'll step off now, positive comments flow------>

It's kind of odd how quick some people seem to think that anything with a 2step beat, ambient sounds and vocals is a burial rip-off. Yes, some of that stuff might be on the border of being a copy. But there is also some really interesting unique stuff happening. I like that whole direction, but if every time somebody comes even remotely close to the burial sound, everybody screams "BURIAL COPY", every innovation in that style is going to be eliminated before it can even get anywhere, no?
I would rather another "almost a burial copy", instead of the 100000th boring wobble bass tune. =)

I dont mean to come across as overly negative, you are right of course in saying that there is loadsa wonderful, exciting directions things are taking & have been for some time, (& always do, in all aspects of electronic music!) These are sounds that i rep in my Dj sets,
(& i dearly love and am excited by sounds reminiscent of dark, slinky garage).
But I just think that in this particular scenario there is no innovation happening, just repitition (which breeds inertia, as past examples have shown in other "scenes").
innovation & sincerity within the creative process rings true in a discerning pair of ears.
I am not quick to assume anything, i know where ive been musically and i know where i'm going.
Loadsa people showing love 4 these tracks! everybody isnt screaming "burial copy", just me & blackdown so far on this thread (& what does he know?

).

nah, run the risk of sounding overly churlish (if i havent already!) if i start getting into specifics with you, few guys in the crew i deejay with feeling these and repping them. apologies for negative comments, all the best to synkro 4 future releases.
