Word. Good to know... everyone Ive ever seen who has the ortofons loves em, just hates the price... and of the handfull of people I know who have the whitelabels, theyre either the best ever or worst ever. Ive always had bad luck with them tracking well while I scratch with them, so I never rated them much.
Ive never personally run into the connection issue, I try to have a brand new no. 2 pencil in my dj bag for bad connections and that usually worked if they werent connecting right. A lot of the time that comes from people licking the connections to make them work, which causes the contacts on the inside of the tonearm to corrode. Stick a pencil in there and twist it to clean that off and it usually works (good enough for a whole set anyway).
The 447's have always been good to me. With control vinyls, they last like a year between needing stylus replacement and only cost $20 ea when they do.
