biopsychology on wednesday.

hate the feeling that i'm revising a years worth of shit just to answer 2 questions. i just spend the whole day revising something that might not even come up.
Same as...

Social/Developmental - tomorrow (luckily it's multiple choice)
Abnormal Psych - thursday (written exam - 4 essay questions)
Psychobiology (neurobiology) - the following tuesday (mixed multiple choice and essay questions)

nightmare week and a half, and i want to get 60%+ in everything so i dont have to struggle to bring my grade up next year. :(

YES

YES

A THOUSAND TIMES YES

...but just for my own mental image

Nothing says "I understand the topic" like complete racial insensitivity!

I really want to slam my head on a few things to make the jargon go in....

Schizophrenia is some bullshit subject man. I don't need to know the phenology of the subject for the rest of my life - It's in the books.

typical converstaion between me and a schizophrenic patient in the future:

Him: I see butternut squash sitting in a tree of apple juice.

Me: You're crazy mayne. Take some pills (anti-psychotic drugs,) and go work in the garden for a few weeks. When you start making sense, we can talk it all out. If that shit don't work, we'll stick you in a room where you can't kill yourself. Cool?

Him: Ginger Ale is gloriously incandescent.

Me: Yeah, tastes good with a shot of rum too.

Him: Are you my mother?

Me: Fuck off mayne. Do I look like a fat bitch with a crazy son?

there... not that hard is it? I shouldnt need to know epedimiological aspects off the top of my head!

I gotta remember everything i can about Eating disorders too, and I feel I personally am about 10 mins away from a Mental breakdown.

First one didn't go toooooooooooooooooo badly.

I actually forgot to revise anything on viruses or pharmacology (both pretty important), and I finished the last topic I was on a couple of hours before the exam

I asked a mate before going in, "Tell me one thing about pharmacology?" and that was the thing that came up, so I guess that's pretty lucky.

:o

Now I have 4 days to revise clean for another exam with equal weight.

sounds like good times de-fi!
...ahem

I finally had an exam go well today, which is nice...but i still got a question for you de-fi (and other medical types) if you fancied having a look and seeing what youd have thought!

"A group of 4 gentleman who appear to be slightly intoxicated and enjoying each other's company (laughing alot). Suddenly one of them (a middle aged over weight Caucasian male) has difficulty speaking, seems to panic and struggles desperately to breathe. The restaurant owner calls for an embulance but is informed that it will take 6 mins to arrive.

Initially the middle aged man looks very anxious and has difficulty speaking. He is clutching his throat with both hands, starts becoming cyanotic and sweaty. He develops insipratory stridot and high-pitched expiratory sounds. Following a few minutes his level of conciousness appears to deteriorate and subsequently becomes floppy. His pupils appear to be dilated"

A) Critically reflect upon this scenario, comment on the presenting signs and symptoms and give a justified list of events (differential diagnoses) in progress. (10 marks)

B) Which further investigative procedures (in an ambulance/hospital) would be most relevant in view of your differentials given above? (5 marks)

Aint gonna say what I put yet (dont think I did too well) but dead interested to see what y'all might think :o
