I never cared much for Carcass tbh. I've heard good things about the Gorguts album though but I've yet to listen to it. Not in the mood atm

Jucifer's album is the best one of the year.
They're touring in Europe atm, go see them. I was there on Friday, with the great band Enablers (on some Slint/Shellac/Maximillian Colby vibes) and it was pretty fucking punishing.
Top tier for best album of the century so far.
Jucifer's more on a sludge/doom/stoner tip, but they incorporate lots of grindcore and noise rock shit too.

Hahaha I've got them on Facebook. Funny as fuck.
Waiting for the member-centered solo albums tbh. Katz doing vocals over doom tracks penned by Hull will be great. I hope that Jay Randall's album will sound a lot like their side of the ANB/Despise You split.
And word, Kaili. Jucifer actually got me back into metal. For months I'd only listen to Pig Destroyer and Menace Ruine (and the everpresent Clair Cassis :3), but Jucifer got me hooked again. Even busting out the old Candlemass records and rocking to them :0

im with you minus a few. ive been listening to a lot of hell, windhand, the body, of course old sabbath, and thou. im trying to get into sourvein on recommendation but the only album im liking bits off of is their newest album, black fangs. its pretty bro, but enough doom to balance it.

I don't mind the aggression of death metal but a lot of it sounds kind of dishonest to me now. Calculated brutality. Pig Destroyer sticks with me because it sounds like the brutality just flows from it. Rather than it being the intended purpose for the music. If that makes sense?
Shit, I said Despise You split (and their side on it was great), but actually meant the Apartment 213 split. ANB's side sounded like an update on the sound of this band called Man Is the Bastard.

I've been playing guitar for about 14 years now and come from a heavy metal background. I'm into bands like All Shall Perish, Black Dahlia Murder, With The Ruins, After the Burial, Emmure etc.
By the way here's a short video of me shredding a guitar solo

Haha, at that time, the ANB logo referenced the MITB skulls and I think they were saying that they WENT for that style.
They even only used bass guitars rather than guitars on those tunes! Just like MITB!
Eric Wood and I.. we have a complicated history. He's no fan of mine. He threw a hissyfit when Akron/Family referenced the MITB logo on one of their shirts as a tribute and told his fans to raid their Facebook. I read about that on the Six Weeks Records page, commented on how loony this is since thrashcore bands reference older bands in their artwork all the time and he should stop being a little bitch. I had no idea he would read that. Anyway, he added me to his Facebook to start an online fight with me. Just said 'HEY ASSHOLE' and I didn't see that til like a week later.
Bastard Noise was the first noise shit I got into tho. Pretty cool. Though I really like their album, 'A Culture of Monsters', a lot. Reminds me of old MITB too.
Edit: word nice shredding there Rockonin. Just picked up my guitar for the first time in ages today.

i know i heard other similar stories about the guy. seems like a real dick
was really into mitb, capitalist casualties, despise you and the like but i can't for the life of me listen to that kinda shit nowadays. tbh i barely listen to anything outside of electronic music, except a few super polished metalcore/post-hardcore bands

Could someone suggest a couple super hardcore bands. I have never really listened to any type of metal before and I want to expand my musical diversity. I'm mostly looking for bands that are loud, fast, and vocals you can't understand. I don't like the slow emotional stuff. Thanks in advance!
