Dig the drums, nice sounding snare and the crashes through out are good. The bass & bass line works with the vocals & strings too, kind of a slow drawl but also some movement with the LFO. The motor/mechanic sounds are ok, they come in a little too often maybe? The second drop doesn't sound bad, but it is not much of a change from the first part of the track.

Im gonna have to second that. Your off to a really good start tho, i would even try bringing up the hi's on that wobble, up an aoctave, and make the second drop more percussive...orrrr if you really wanted to go crazy, changeup the melody completely (not so much that it wont work with the first one) but you get the idea, love the KILLA sample, is that from the aftermath album? eastcoast KILLA westcoast KILLA haha, bigups mang!

I fucking love this thread :e:
The structure is good. The kicks are not popping out enough for me though, and the synthesized dialog sounds harsh to me, like it is too loud, but then again mixing down and levels is a weak point for me.

Anyways, give a penny, take a penny, here is a new one I am working on:

Soundcloud

Not sure how I feel about the snares, whole thing is kind of tribally to me, and I should probably work in a bit of automation on a few elements plus some more edits at the end of 8- or 16-bars. Actually have two or three other tunes in various stages, so I might throw them up too; they're a bit older though, been sitting around a while.
Thanks bra, I'm still working on the final master, and I think the synthesized vocals are going to go, just as soon as I knick my mate's mic

Liking this track so far, it all fits together quite well and you've done a great job making the low end pump. The vocals are at just the right volume to give the "vibes." It definitely feels unfinished though-- you need to add something overtop that awesome bass. Maybe a synth or even just a few well-placed beeps or noise samples or something, but the first build and drop are probably too repetitive. I know you're going for a minimal-dub sound and you've definitely nailed the style, but it needs something else. If you listen to a guy called Graphics, he does a fantastic job of laying awesome, haunting synth lines over mainly chilled dubstep. Of course, I make mainly club tracks, so I'm a bit biased.

But yeah, the mastering and levelling sounds great, very professional, so well done on that. Drums are also good, and work with the track, although could maybe use slightly more variation on the kick-snare pattern. I like to change up my drums every fourth or eigth loop with a break on the fourth beat, usually a double-snare or something, and that adds a lot of momentum. Definitely interested in where you'll take this, and if you think you have other tracks that are ready for listening then by all means put them up!

Yeah man, that's a bangin' track. Well mastered and mixed. Your instincts about the second drop are right though, because this never really explodes. I recommend a newer, heavier drum pattern in the back, more hi-hats, a faster and more intense wobble, and more distortion.

Sort the second drop though and this is probably demo-ready. Who are you going to shop this to?

Trying to keep it simple but maybe it sounds a bit to simple.
Thanks in advance for any feedback...

Diggin' this a lot-- the sample is perfect, the wobble is well-done, and the synth reminds me of Joker in a good way. The drums are also pretty well programmed, and I'm feelin the syncopation. 2:14 to 2:45 ish is great, it takes the momentum of the track and turns everything up to ten. Only thing I would change is that after this massive thing, you need a bigger drop-- don't just go back into the original drop. Other than that, I would play this, and I don't say that very often.

It's unmastered and not fully mixed but hopefully it's enough to hear where I'm going with it.
That's a decent track indeed. Nice keyboard work.

Got potential for an opening, but it sounds bad quality wise (might be these headphones though tbh)

I dunno, I actually kind of like it. I think it would sound pretty cool if you used this bit as an opening, then after the 40 seconds or so completely cut out the drums and have a MASSIVE build, like jokers of the scene or jump-up dnb style or something and then drop a HYOOGEE wobble bass, then drop back into the bit you posted, even bigger build, even bigger drop.

Also the quality sounds alright on my speakers, what cans do you have?

Feeling this, like the synth sound.

Would like to hear what it progresses into.

Nice chilled vibes, a little unsure of what key that phaser pad thing is taking at 1:05 though.

Agree with above poster, watch what key you're playing in.

This to me sounds like an epic intro to a really massive halftime beat though (nero's ghosts n stuff styley) Don't leave it in 4/4 imo, switch it up majorly for the drop.

Here's my latest WIP:

Hey guys! I'm completely new here. I have about 9 new tunes, all made on FL Studio, and i never really know what to do to 'finish' them. If your only going to check out 1, Shadows or 'Get the F*** out' are probably my best, but ti would be nice if you could check them all out! Thanks :)
