Wat???
I was deep sea fishing this past summer with a guy who runs an MRI lab, and he told me that the metal in certain tattoo inks can cause major scarring if subjected to the MRI.
Hmmm I suppose the iron oxide used for the black, red and brown will interact with the magnetic field. I'd be very surprised if there was enough to cause a problem though. I might have to check up on this.

or just don't fly. it's the same with any service, you have to accept the rules and guidelines of the people who created and/or regulate the service. it's easy to cry about shit, it's hard to do something about it. just wondering what alien pimp does about all the things he disagrees with other than post about it on dsf. do you walk the walk or just talk the talk?
go live off the grid buddy, or do something revolutionary,,,

Who's to say you're not going to see these in train stations next?
Where does it end?

I remember Mythbusters doing some tests on this. Pretty sure that myth was busted, but I honestly can't remember.

or maybe we should remember how much effort was put in so we can travel fast and freely and how much that opens people's mind, and then take a fucking stand. like not flying, but as a boycott, not as in giving up on our rights!
those fuckers didn't create airplanes and are not regulating a service, but the whole activity, unless you know alternatives for people like us

^ pimp is on it once again.
yeh, we could all shut up and go thru the scanners & have our homes searched whenever they want & have them read every email & only dance when they tell us we can & only put into our bodies what is legal to consume & vote for one of the two given parties & have our faces scanned for emotion every time we turn on our Xbox(!) and every other thing we have been told to conform to for no given reason(or more likely, for a complete bullshit reason they stick with even after we all know better...)...yeh we could do all that or i suppose go 'off the radar'...those are the only two option tho right? no need to bring sensibilities into this...

It's only about fucking body scanners. I would've thought mandatory fingerprinting and biometric scans upon entry in the US, which has been going on for years, was a bigger invasion of privacy and identity.
If they offered to give you a handjob while patting you down would you complain as much?

I don't wanna go through the damn scanner either. I just want to fly on a plane and not have the possibility of anybody groping/ogling my shit.

That would really slow the line down.

lololol @ slowing the line down. awesome.
ok, so maybe right NOW it is only about fucking scanners...
but in the legal system there is something called PRECEDENT, which makes every action relevant to things that could come up down the line. what happens now DOES affect our future, and more importantly, the future of our children. to be honest, i dont mind the pat-downs or the xrays. i dont mind even mind the fingerprints & biometrics. i have nothing to hide. but i cant help but wonder where all this is leading...data is being collected...and the part i dont like is that you & i have no say in how that data may be used in the future.

This woman seems to think data is not being collected, and that is precisely the problem.

Body scans and genital fondling would save more lives if the government was paying to have them done in hospitals rather than airports.

i would think the problem is actually that data is being collected, but not used for what we are told it is used for, or that they are just collecting different data entirely. you smell like pot so we need to put 4 guards on you cus you might get too stoned & hijack a plane? ummm...i'm thinking perhaps 'their' idea of 'safety' and my own might differ a bit...

Yep, body scans in airport will lead to them coming in our homes and raping our privacy. It's a gateway intrusion, just like herb's a gateway drug

The synergies of 9/11 continue to unfold like a lotus blossom.
Such a win/win/win/win... for those bastards.
This technology is not effective for it's stated purpose, yet it is expensive and onerous.
So then what is it's purpose? I believe it is a conditioning tool used to condition Americans to ever increasing invasions of their privacy. If you resist this process in any way, you will be made an example of.
This is theater.
