The Guardian one week ago;

"Small as it is, Stokes Croft is the most vibrant, active, creative, revolutionary area currently in Britain."

If this "worldwide revolution" is supposed to spread to England, fairly sure it'll start off in Stokes Croft.

I lived in Kennington for a bit in one of the high rises behind the park. It was only marginally grimmer than E&C.

That's where I am now. Getting the bus home past the heygate estate will make anything feel better in comparison.

K - Town's not that bad! A lot of my friends live there, and there are some really nice bits. Cleaver square for example. I fucking hate Kennington Park though.

Why would you want to live in the part of the city that is populated by tuncs?

Maybe it's just something town folk like me wouldn't understand.

Once made the mistake of going into the Elephant & Castle subway after a bit too much ket. Got lost for 2hrs and started tripping out that I was clearing tunnels in Vietnam. Not a happy time.

I once met a man who was "climbing" the floor in there at about 4am... face down, moving along at a couple of inches a time and looking for footholds as if he was scaling the sheer face of a mountain.

All about the take away hut by the bus stop. Lost count of the number of times I've got burgers from there at like 5am.

I kind of miss E&C. All of its griminess has a wierd charm. Only place I've seen crackheads and police have a good laugh with each other.

Also, Shoreditch is slowly becoming that place where people that want to be trendy go to so I wouldn't bother. Although you might fit in with all the faux-cool kids.

i spend most of my time in dalston, stoke newington, hackney and hackney wick. all really good, trendy places. hackney and hackney wick seem to be the cheapest, then probably dalston and then stokey. all good places though. be even better when the olympic park tube is up and running!

Yeah, Brixton mate is a safe bet. Acre lane if you can get around there somewhere. Good place with plenty of awesome west Indian takeaways.

Brixton has always been pretty sketchy whenever i've been there.
