what about deleting offensive posts + warnings per pm as first step? and banning as second?

but it's still your (the moderators) board, not ours - and i think you're doing a good job :)

Its a shame it had to be done but its a clear point made, dont give beef on the site!

I'm against banning ppl, for one it aint hard to change your ip address and create a new logon so he'll be back and by the looks of it he already is...

Without enough evidence, I'll be ambivalent about our 'government' here at dubstep forum (no matter how many times they say it was a very careful decision or whatever). It just reminds me of other experiences I've had in communities (virtual and real) when people have been dealt with in a secretive way and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, not knowing what to think of the decision. Its not very democratic. Maybe someone should make a "best(worst) of HSD" collection to show what was goin on.
worldy d if u havent seen any evidence of bannable offenses, including racial slur from this member, then you havent been paying enough attention to the threads he was posting in, if you've seen them at all.
go and have a look

the majority of people on this forum agree it was the right decision, so you should re look at the evidence before criticising the decisions made as 'secretive'.
the member in question made a complete mess of almost every thread he posted in and something needed to be done, and again after we sent a fair warning to him.

use the search and come to your own conclusion.

but anyways, you know its a party when people feel comfortable to be out and out racists...

well god damn!!

I dont say to much on here but that last thread..I had to speak up..

"the main factors of what Dubstep music is ALL about which is peace, love, unity and strictly positive vibes"

[sarcasm]yeah I'm really feeling that from some people.[\sarcasm]

As much as dm was an ass, his tunes really weren't that bad.... I just wished he had contributed a little less ego, and posted up more music.

Dunno how i feel about the banning decision, though I can understand how the mods came the end of their collective ropes w/ that guy.

I have an idea though. Lots of forums set up a sticky topic w/ rules or guidelines for their members to adhere to, and the consequences if they don't. Maybe we should draft up something similar here, so that people know exactly what will and won't be allowed.

That's a shame really, I think Dubmugga could've contributed quite a bit, he has done some cool graphics and a couple of his beats are pretty good too. But I agree, everythread with him in it degenerated into a brawl and it was just effort to read through it.

If a person's way of communicating with other people is largely aggressive and abusive, then the person would have to expect to be dealt with accordingly. Forum's are not a good place for aggression, because the only way people can interpret the aggression is through the use of language. If you're speaking with an aggressive person in real life, body language becomes a large part of how you interpret the person. So in one sense, a forum is not really a complete form of social interaction.
You can be blunt and have strong opinions without having to abuse people in the process. If people don't have the language capacity for this, then i suggest not trying to communicate in net communities. Something to consider.
