Alright, gonna be my first outlook next august so hyped! coming from york with about 6 others, few questions for people that have been before:
1)camping/apartment? me and some mates can get an apartment for roughly £10 each a night, would we be missing out much by not camping? we'd rather go somewhere with a good atmosphere, but as nice as the comfort of an en suit room every night sounds, if it worth the treck to and from the festival every day.
2)what is the transport like? we were thinking of staying in pula, 3.6 miles away from the festival.
3)what's it likes getting hold of green etc there? would be nice to smoke away the hangover in the afternoons.
cheers

1) Go for the apartment - you will not miss out on anything.
2) The transport is no problem, theres buses and cheap taxis all the time.
3) I found weed quite hard to get hold of - but I met people who said it was no problem. Anyway if you're buying anything, stay away from the Croatian shit grass... its no good. And ofc. watch out for the police as the croatian law is very strict.

1) Campsite last time was horrid. Get an apartment! The downside is you don't have access to the campsite/beach, which means you don't have access to the basketball court / beach stages. You can easily sneak in though, either by walking along the coastline or sneaking through bushes.
2) Transport is always available and cheap.
3) Bring your own. Don't bother wasting your cash on local stuff, it's really bad. Be careful though, police searched our cars in Germany while we took a break at a gas station.

Pretty sure you get access in the day...
For me there were too many people doing the typical english festival thing of staying in your campsite all through the day getting pissed and then going to watch artists for 2 hours before returning to their tents to sing rugby songs this year

.
I'll definitely still be going next year as there is no better festival in the world for bass music but i felt the whole atmosphere of the festival this year was very different to 2010 which is a shame really.

My camping spot was absolutely fantastic, I met some really safe people who had grabbed a right tasty spot, just next to the reggae rig/food. I got there a few days early (Flew from England to Switzerland and hitch hiked there). I have to say though, after about 2 days into the actual festival the campsite was shite; like I said our spot was great but the rest of the site was just full -FULL- of rubbish and shit, not to mention the toilets which were fucking vile.
Agree with the guy above about football shirt wearing dickheads as well...But there were some sound people. Music was fucking amazing though. Definitely recommend it.

If you go try and head there before the festival starts. This way you get the pick of the camping spots. We got there early and we did'nt really do this well. We had a decent spot but we could of picked one that meant the sun didn't touch our tents til like the afternoon. Being woken up in a sweatbag at 9.00am was cruel as fuck.
Apart from that it was the best time of me fucking life in 2011. I need to be part of this '2012 crew' but my placement year (depending on if i get to where i want to go) will mean i'll be sitting 2012 out.... Ew.

I think my group are booking our flights this week LONDON > AMSTERDAM (few days) > VENICE (1 day) then bus to Croatia.
Prices will go up, up, up after Christmas so get on it soon!

a word of advice; if girls are in your party, make sure they don't get raped...

I'm really not sure about going this year, Outlook 11 kinda put me off a lil bit. I've been thinking about it recently, and I probably will go though.
They're selling another batch of tickets in January, so get your monies ready!!
I got a flight from London to Germany, then germany to pula. Cost me about £60 to get there and £80 to get back, not too shabby! My camping spot was shit, my sleeping bag was on a rock. the Outlook rented tents are NOT 2 man tents!!! can't stress that enough. people are generally nice, not as much as a family vibe as 2010 had.
I'd say do camping. You meet people, right in the centre of all the action, next to the beach, etc.

yeah my mate got knocked out for a bit and was in the welfare tent for quite a while, he said there was like loads of reports of rape. mainly on those little pathways when people are staggering/crawling back to the campsite dodgy guys were just pulling girls into bushes... fuck that for a laugh... scary shit man. i mean im not actually a girl but the girls in our group were just really scared of being by themselves after that. what a lovely atmosphere...

yeah it was messed up. a girl in our dorm/apartment was in a terrible state because her friend was taken off in an ambulance after being raped by a security guard.
apparently they were stealing shit from people and kicking them out and cutting their wristbands off, kicking the shit out of people.
my mate said he saw some dude in the sea and he couldn't get out because a bunch of security guards were pelting rocks off his head every time he tried to swim back...? no idea why, but they were a nasty bunch.
there were a lot of security guards actually doing their jobs tho, like breaking up fights and that, but i'd watch out

Maybe this is why they are getting UK security this time? I never let any of the lasses in our party walk back to the camp alone, especially my girlfriend. It's just common sense, it shouldn't happen but it does.
2011 was better than 2010 but I am not sure how long they'll keep it going. Not sure if we'll be going again next year.

that's completely fucked up! i knew people had problems with croatian security but didn't know they were this bad...i actually had a pretty good experience with the bouncers...was even let backstage a couple of times without even having a wristband...i think this year i'm seriously considering on whether it's worth going....but then i couldn't imagine a summer without outlook
