i really dig the dub reggae influences in dubstep but that's maybe because i started as a dub reggae selector and continue to select it to this day... i see it as some kind of logical progression of the classic dub... forward ever backwards never...

@struggle: IMHO stuff from the disciples goes pretty well with dubstep, especially their "sunrise" 12inch on boom shacka lacka but i think its sold out. also the dubkasm 12" with the iration steppas remixes on it fits very well. or try some stuff by the mighty vibronics. generally uk dub fits very well if you ask me but it seems not too many people like this kinda dub... at least i do

Different melodies.. Tapped is a bit deeper, bit weirder, and a bit more minimal, whereas 0800 Dub is more like a Request Line remix. Tapped has a really, really cool drum switch up too - kind of a ragga tip

I like Tapped better, one of my faves Skream opens his Breezeblock set with it if you wanna check it again.

i love dub music n i love dubstep music...so i love the dub influenced dubstep....but i do agree say a whole set of it would get boring after a while.but i say producers just do your thing.

The "dub" influence was the only reason I started listening to dustep; well that and Joe Nice.

and if u meant that saying that there is too much reggae in dubstep than i have to agree with u
i miss some more reagge stuff but not that kind and not in that kind of dubstep

but i think some sounds/ideas are worn out (ie not appropriate for dubstep fwd>> attitude)

all this reminded me, who did the tune with the sleng teng bassline hatcha is playing? that track is heavy!

I think there is way too much step in dubstep.

I wouldn't say it was dubstep, but you could play it in a dubstep set

I see totally what you're saying - the stuff that just sounds like straight reggae or dub doesn't have the same futurist attitude that seems to fit a scene like dubstep.
