Police have issued a statement saying the festival was in fact cancelled due to rain, rather than overcrowding and over-ticketing (as we first thought yesterday) according to the NME.

The Metropolitan Police have said in their statement:

"The problem stemmed from rain, and people hiding under cover during the showers, creating huge 'pinch-points'. [This created the issues], rather than any over-ticketing."

It has also been confirmed by the authorities that there were no injuries or fatalities reported at the site, despite rumours that have been floating about.

Pukkelpop in Belgium last year, a festival about 4 times the size of this one, was cancelled last year due to rain......and a sudden hurricane going over the festival grounds killing 5 people on the first day.

Seriously though. It didn't rain (or it barely rained if at all).

The NME are full of shit. Awful rag.

There was definitely NOT enough rain for this. At all. It was a bit sloppy on one of the paths out, but I haven't even had to clean my fucking trainers.

As soon as pretty much everyone walked in they said "This is never going to work". And then it... didn't work.

the police shot the right man, but the wrong man exploded.

thats what the statement sounds like to me (just that the police isnt to blame, its the promoters)

sad to hear bout it cause the boat (ms stubnitz) is really great, if a bit overcrowded. must be a HUGE financial loss to get it over to ldn all for nothing... they were here on my birthday in april and i had a blast, would have been cool to hera what you guys think of it.
must also be shit for the acts... everyones losing, worst possible case

horrendous, horrendous festival experience. never experienced it outside of london, but can't say i'd ever like to frequent one of their events again.
shame, was on a massive hype & had friends fly from out of the country for this.

It is with great sadness that we announce Baselogic Productions (who you all know as Bloc) has been placed into administration following the events of Friday evening. The team are working hard with the administrators to investigate the issues that led to the closure of the event and people will be updated as and when we have new information. We ask that you allow the administrators time to conduct a thorough investigation so we can establish the facts.

Once again we would like to apologise for all of the frustration and disappointment this situation has caused and thank everyone who has supported the team over the years, your continued support means so much to us.

Please see below a press release from Parker Andrews, the appointed administrators.

Parker Andrews appointed administrators for Base Logic Productions Ltd t/a Bloc

On 11 July 2012, Baselogic Productions Ltd trading as Bloc voluntarily entered administration. The appointed administrator is Jamie Playford of Parker Andrews Insolvency Practitioners. An investigation into the facts leading to Baselogic Productions and the administration will be conducted immediately by Parker Andrews and a further statement will be issued in due course. Jamie Playford said: “It is important that we understand the full facts including what funds will be available to creditors and ticketholders and to ensure the information we provide about the next stages of administration is clear and concise”.

I can't see us getting our money back in that case... :/

£110 to see 45 minutes of Amon Tobin is alot.
