Snake in eagle's shadow is cool, so is Snake in Monkeys shadow... the original drunken master shizzle ( and preceding it I think?)

Dave Carradine is also cool in " silent flute " written by Bruce lee ( not starring unfortunately due to death )

I saw the latest Miike Takashi movie a while back at the cinema, Ryuu ga Gotoku. It's based on the PS2 game of the same name (released as "Yakuza" outside Japan). Worst film I've ever seen. As opposed to most of his other movies which I really love. I know they don't fit into the title of the thread really but which are everyone's favourites? For me it has to be Fudoh the New Generations or Dead or Alive.

miike's favs, Visitor Q stole my heart... liked Gozu and enjoyed a lot Dead or Alive and Ichi the killer. Waiting to watch Hapyness of the katakuris.

what about modern directors like Shinya Tsukamoto, Shogo Ishi (big one!), Koyoshi Kurosawa, etc.?

This might be because I've been out in the sun for too long but I don't remember seeing Drive mentioned. For a cheap direct-to-video movie it's pretty good.

illsta check visitor Q, i think is his best movie... i didn't see all his movies, i think this is imposible to do that, the guy makes 4 - 6 movies in a year, but is the one i enjoyed a lot. hehehehehe

the yakuza stuff still on my 'things-to-watch' list i have watch hideo gosha's 'The Wolves it narrates the story of several people of the underground world in the meiji restoration. amazing work!

I just started buying the original Lone Wolf & Cub manga, rock ard Japanese! Need to get the dictionary out for some of that. Each book is also a lot longer than the rip-off English versions.

The spanish edition is like the original almost 400 pages per number. is a great great manga, one of my favorites alongside the material of Jiro Taniguchi.
