Good to see Johnny Cash and Mulatu Astatqe on the lists..

The Dabrye album was a big disappointment to me..too many sub par mcs and the beats didn't grab me as much as some of his other stuff..

I've got the Amadou & Mariam on rotation...it's good stuff..pretty up catchy tunes..produced by Manu Chao i think..

Also been listening to Devendra Banhart, Surfjan Stevens and CocoRosie on a folky tip..

The new Studio One Scorchers is a good listen, although not as strong as the previous volume..the new Light in the Attic comp is worth checking..jamaican reggae ex pats making soul, funk and a few reggae tracks..v good..

On the MP3 front, this always puts a smile on my face walking into work in the morning: http://blogfiles.wfmu.org/KF/0512/Ghana_Post_Office.mp3

vast aire has fallen off hard since Cold Vein, with him and Vordul the sum of both is significantly better than the individual parts IMO..Doom can do no wrong in my books though..

To be honest I find the majority of rappers dull these days..there's very few with the charisma, wit, delivery and quality of doom, who even on his weakest tracks outshines most.

yeah i suppose your right about vast aire, i just have trouble dealing with it as the cold vein is one of my all time favourite albums. MF doom is the best mc to ever walk the earth though, esp. the Viktor Vaughn stuff
