What's the best way to sync up an acapella in FL? I'm completely useless at it.

Actually been around since version 4 with the audio clips only. Pattern clips were added in 7. I used 3 for the longest time just for the step sequencer and would arrange later in Acid, so when they added clip tracks in the playlist I switched to FL only. So much easier to chop and slice shit up on the quick. Great investment and can't beat the lifetime free upgrades!five-ohh-what wrote: i think i remember someone in here saying that it has been something you have been able to do in fl since fl7
Best way is to find the tempo of the acapella first and write the tune around it. When you have the audio clip in the playlist, click on the little arrow in the top left of the clip and select "detect tempo" to get the bpm automatically. This won't work if you want to write a tune with a completely different bpm.glottis5 wrote:What's the best way to sync up an acapella in FL? I'm completely useless at it.

In massive in FL , What would be the best way to change around the sync'd lfo speed of a wobble multiple times to mutliple speeds such as 1/4 , 1/8, 1/12, 1/16 in a 8 bar time frame and record that.
err... dunno if the recording aspect is vital but I don't see why it would be, so why not:ChronicRecords wrote:Massive wobble sync automation question for FL:

ive tried pressing the record button in FL and moving the lfo ratio thing with my mouse but it doesnt record the movements. doesnt work.
Tried Slicing different clips that were each set to a different speed, then putting them together but when i use the knife tool it cuts out large portions of my note and i cant get the wobbles to change at precise times like in between a fast 1/16th wobble... plus to do it this way is a huge amount of work if you want to change the speeds alot..
I think it would be easier if i could just record the movements of my mouse in massive somehow when im switching between speeds, so every 8 bars it will change between speeds on its own? Anyway to do anything like this ?
And if there isnt a way to do it this easily, and i have to resort to cutting and pasting a shit load, is there a way to slice ur clips extremely precisely , without removing any notes. Sorry if this is confusing, if you know what im getting at please help me with the most efficiant way, or anyway you do it. thanks!
is this even possible? have you done this yourself with massive vst?d1rt1989 wrote:err... dunno if the recording aspect is vital but I don't see why it would be, so why not:ChronicRecords wrote:Massive wobble sync automation question for FL:

1. tweak cutoff or whatever you're wobbling
2. think it's 'last changed parameter' or something to that effect on the top left menu
3. edit events in piano roll, then highlight sections (snap is useful) and ALT-O to draw LFOs manually.
or better yet, make an x-y controller link the cutoff to that, and edit its events, that way you can use the lfos you've drawn to control other stuff too.
this can seem like a waste of time at first, but trust me, it'll revolutionise your wobbling.
well u can hit the little sync button in the lfo section to swtich to rate then u can control it with that knob or u can edit events on the rate knob or the cutoff knob and in the piano roll or events window go to tools>lfoChronicRecords wrote:Massive wobble sync automation question for FL:

Well technically if you just clone the synth and run it through the same FX channel that's basically doubling the oscillators.Tutin wrote:I write most of my synths in 3xosc, but there's only so much you can do with 3 oscillators, does FL have anything with more oscillators that I don't have to buy? Yes automation is possible with massive. First, don't have it in sync. You can't automate the sync settings AFAIK. Tweak the LFO rate knob and then follow the above and goto "Last Tweaked Parameter" and select either edit events or create automation clip. If you want, you can link the LFO knob to a knob on your controller (if you have one) and record an automation clip and chop it the fuck up as you please.ChronicRecords wrote: is this even possible? have you done this yourself with massive vst?
i was reading a useful trick for 3xosc is to put 3 of them into a layer and then u have 9 oscillators at once and i guess u can use a bunch of them because 3xosc uses very little cpu. if u need me to elaborate a little more let me knoTutin wrote:I write most of my synths in 3xosc, but there's only so much you can do with 3 oscillators, does FL have anything with more oscillators that I don't have to buy? what do you mean is it possible? it's really quite simple lol, i wouldn't say 'it'll revolutionise your wobbling' if i didn't do it myself...ChronicRecords wrote:is this even possible? have you done this yourself with massive vst?d1rt1989 wrote:err... dunno if the recording aspect is vital but I don't see why it would be, so why not:ChronicRecords wrote:Massive wobble sync automation question for FL:

at analyses each frequency and shows u what frequencies are being used. its good to see what frequencies may be fucking up ur mix etc. but i was wondering if its the best thing to EQ with on fl.d1rt1989 wrote:what does equo even do? it looks snazzy but ive never looked into using it, am i missing out?
I usually just use PEQ2. You have more bands by default with EQUO, but you can add multiple PEQ2s to get more bands. Also, the coder's of FL have stated that EQUO colors the sound and doesn't pass the original signal - use PEQ2 for mastering/cutting freqs and EQUO as a "fancy effect".Osky wrote: but i was wondering if its the best thing to EQ with on fl.
might have to get the EQUO out again last time i used it was when i found out about PEQ2 .relik wrote:I usually just use PEQ2.
