Adam ChokDee Svoboda Why do you make an opinion despite having no information in regards to why he was shouting at the policeman..?

Adam ChokDee Svoboda And why should anybody respect the law and police force? They have fuckall respect for us. Here you basically have armed repression of a citizen voicing his concerns. That is a pretty fucked up thing to give a like to Jon...

Jonathan Moody Lol they have no respect for you? Their very job is a sign of respect for the people.

Ollie Heller Also, no offence but the fact this comes from a page called, Britain First, doesn't exactly scream credibility...

Jonathan Moody The guy there got arrested for 16 months before he done this for hopping a barrier in the palace with a knife I think. He was there to complain about some form of benefit.

Ollie Heller Only information I can find about it is that he was a Nigerian man who wanted to lobby about Syria or to get help in returning home or simply because he wanted to meet the Queen (sources differ). He wasn't carrying a knife nor was he arrested, he was simply ushered away as it was causing a scene and then let go. I mostly just commented because I have absolutely no clue as to why some pathetic Nationalistic facebook group is using this as a recruitment campaign, especially when they do not bother to reference the story or cite any sources. Also to some degree I agree with Adam since I feel the soldier should definitely not have threatened the man since the man was hardly a threat and what exactly was the soldier going to do? Bayonet an unarmed man in the middle of the street?

It's not pathetic. Nationalism is not pathetic.
It trying to be some sort of recruitment is pretty pathetic tho.
The way it's handled, that man was being hugely disrespectful in that area guarded by men of honor, what do you expect?

Ollie Heller The man being threatened by the guard and the man who was arrested are two entirely different stories. The key words in the article being, "Earlier this year". Nationalism is ridiculous and use stories like this as impetus to fuel their hate-filled, xenophobic campaigns. What is the message? That the military should be allowed to intervene in domestic affairs?

Jonathan Moody Hey now, that guard acted on his own accord and shouldn't be restricted because he's military.
FFS I know they're two different stories about the same guy. I should've been more explicit.
In this society, freedom of speech has been to abused and some people need to shut the fuck up and rethink their shit before opening their mouths again. Especially students who think they're adult enough to know about the world and wreck half of london in protest.

Ollie Heller Well he should, also it wasn't his job as the Metropolitan police lead security. The story about the man jumping the barrier with a knife has nothing to do with free speech as he wasn't speaking, he was committing multiple crimes. Also I don't really understand how this really has anything to do with freedom of speech since arguably political groups (such as Britain First) are more in breech of freedom of speech then the Nigerian man in the article... Also you can't really just say sweeping generalisations like, "some people need to shut the fuck up". Which people should speak and which shouldn't? So the students protesting against further cuts to education funding (after being assured that further education fees would not rise) should shut the fuck up whilst Nationalistic groups definitely should spew their xenophobic drivel?

Jonathan Moody I know that about the knife story ffs!
It's complicated it varies. It's not something to be put simply in any way. It's just a mindset you have. The nigerian man raising his voice outsides the queen palace and being rude to the officer can fuck off basically.
