@Kai: My language is very direct at times and you more than anyone on this thread seems to have really jumped on that and taken it more negatively that it was intended, so my apologies for that. I'm not going to give a point-by-point response as it would only fuel the fire further, but I will address one point you made and then I'm done:

We do that all the time here. Since posting in this thread I've offered advice to plenty of people on this forum who asked for it. Out of curiosity what have you contributed to the forum today? (rhetoric question, don't worry about answering)
I built an entire website 100% dedicated to helping out up and coming producers, and on that website I write more than 20 detailed reviews per week critiquing other people's tunes, as well as managing all the admin and coding of it (which is a lot more work than just a forum, believe me). I don't directly promote my site anywhere, and I'm sorry that I don't have time to do the same on dubstep forum, but my motivation under all of this is really nothing more than to help producers get better and get noticed. So yes, this is partly a promotion thread but also I thought people on here might appreciate hearing what I consider a great tune (and still do).
I will hold my hand up and admit that the thread title was sensationalistic, but hey it worked...
PS To the mod: no male posturing here, just a very direct choice of language that, being an internet forum, has sounded worse than it was meant. I'm ignoring the childish insults and will only respond to people who come up with adult, intelligent arguments, like kai.
TL;DR: no hate from me, a bit of healthy debate never hurt anybody

Piss, I meant to send that as a PM. But now it is in here I'll try to describe my interpretation of the rules and why they will be changing in the new year.
General Discussion, discussion about released music that users have heard and like/dislike. Unreleased tunes make an appearance, but not very often, and when they do, we try to move it into the Music forum. Not production related and no obvious promo.
Music:
Music being promoted, sold or given away.
Dubs:
Music the creators specifically want feedback on.
Production:
Music posted to encourage discussion about production.
The finished feedback thread at the top is going away forever in the new year. There is quite grey area between Dubs and Music, which I have no doubt, will get some clarification and changes from the uber mods upon their return.
Also with regards to this thread, to date no one has reported it and when I came into read it, there was already a huge amount of discussion in here. Which is why I haven't locked or moved it. Had the original post not inspired 4 pages then maybe I would have moved it? Dunno tbh. If I have a 'style' of moderating (god that sounds sad), it's to be as sparing as possible. And if I was Kaori, I'd be PISSED if a mod fucked a thread off after I posted that much.

Well, there has been some interesting discussion about film score techniques and I personally have been introduced to a couple of new tunes that I hadn't heard before, so there's value in this thread amidst the nonsense.
End of the day, this is the internet, where it's actually harder to avoid fights than start them.

Not really. You don't have a ratings system or charts on here. Or artist profiles. Or dedicated track pages.
And I don't think you properly understand what spam is

click the report button and you'll see that it fits the definition quite perfectly
you're soliciting users from here to your site in all your posts
you just link to content on your site and offer no real contributions beyond that
that my friend is spam, subtle and more welcome than the usual brand of it, but still spam

I've started 4 threads on this forum to date, one of which had nothing at all to do with my site. Linking to a tune on my site is no worse than somebody linking to their tune on Soundcloud. I contribute to every conversation when it gets going in one of the threads (a spammer wouldn't).
I get your point but I think you're being harsh and myopic. I contribute to this site as much as I can afford at the moment, which, because I have my own site to run, is less than most people (and also because any large community like this tends to be clicky, so I'm still feeling my way in). And to say that this site offers everything my site does is still simply a factual error, as well as being alarmingly snobby and close-minded. Both sites offer things the other doesn't, which is why I am here and why I believe others should have a look at my site too. I'm not trying to "solicit" or steal users away from here or anything malicious like that, so let's just be mature about this, ok?

I'm not denying that I'm a noob. Should I be worried or something?
