So i was 9 or 10 years old on a holiday with my aunt and few,of her friends. They had kids too and i made friends with them etc.
Once we were into the woods, with an axe and we went on cutting and kicking down the old, rotten trees. We knocked down a few, but as my mate was chopping this next one he hit the tree and a bigass branch has, fallen on my back from 5 meters or such knocking me on the ground. I was lucky it didn't land on my head.
But as we were on hill, the part that scared me the most was that i was on the ground, barrel rolling downhill when i see the tree behind me, my mate chopped it down with that last hit so i was basically rolling down the hill, with the tree rolling behind me, unable to do anything useful because even if managed to stop the tree would crush me pretty badly. It got caught between aome shit or something luckily enough and i came out unharmed. We didn't tell anyone
The other one which was pretty bad, was when i was 14-15 maybe? I was starting off with parkour n shit and back then every body started doing flips and shit. So i was with my mate and we see two classmates (girls) going by so i decided to impress them with a frontflip. Looking back i don't know, wtf i wanted to do i landed on,my ass all the times

Anyway we were, jumping in a sandbox. Relativily soft, i thought. Soi jumped, made a half-assed front flip and managed to land,on that thing that ends your spine at the bottom... I felt a stinging pain and in absolute horror i found that i couldn't move my legs... After 15 seconds or so i got slight feeling in them back, though a very little. So,i crawled onto this bench and laid there for good 15 mins. I was ok after, though.
And i fell,on a snowboard in full speed. I was back to the hill, riding the front edge, when i went over some bump and it threw me off and the back edge slammed me on the ground head first. I dunno hpw the fuck nothing happened to me when i wasn't wearing a helmet, but i shook my head (did hurt a bit, tho) and kept on riding

Sorry to kill the mood, but seriously, what's up the the commas?
i was typing that on a phone and i often hit comma instead of space and i´m too laze to fix it all so i go on typing most of the time

haha, 'tis fine. was just curious...

Ha! To be killed by a plant!

I've also got a morbid fear of getting taken out by a bus wing mirror whilst walking by the edge of the pavement.

Just remembered another one.
Me and my dad were coming back from the football on the bus, sat at the back on the top deck. Initially we're sat next to each other in the middle seats, but when people start leaving, we spread out. A couple of minutes later, some kids throw a brick through the back window so hard it ended up near the front of the bus, coming right where we were sat. Didn't get the bus to football again.

Couple of scary moments climbing. I normally only do fairly sensible stuff where you can rationalize it as "well, I don't think I'm going to fall and if I fall the gear I've got in will probably hold me and even if all the gear pops then it's probably still just a leg-breaker...", but was with a group that got off route scrambling on Skye once and ended up doing some stuff that was pretty touch and go. I have an utterly clear memory of one bit, which involved stepping sideways onto a ledge above a gully, and then doing a high step onto a wet slopey thing in front of me, and looking back down the gully before comitting to the move and just seeing it vanish into the mist and thinking "christ, if this foot slips off then that's that..."
I still kind of shudder in retrospect, although it's quite good for putting anything else that's fucking up at work or whatever into perspective.

1. Nearly had my neck snapped in a ruck at a rugby tournament, could hardly turn my head for days.
2. Bailed hard trying to get air down a 9 set on my skateboard, fell on my face and nearly pushed my nose in to my skull. got out lucky with broken rib and finger.
3. Visiting family with my cousin in Lebanon when Israeli forces started bombing civilian neighbourhoods, bombs and shellfire tore up our whole neighbourhood, ripped off a side of my apartment. Luckily we managed to get to the capital without being harmed, taken in by the American university of Beirut as its an untouchable spot.
4. Nearly got stabbed at a party trying to break up a fight, my friend ended up being stabbed. R.I.P. Jesse Comeau

Still recovering from some of my injuries now, But had a compound break on my right humerus which has a plate on the underarm now. Right femur broken so have an intramedullary nail from hip to knee to support it, and the seatbelt ruptured the lining around my bowel meaning for two weeks, I did nothing but throw up and couldn't eat for about 30 days as I wasn't able to actually shit it out so lost nearly 3 stone that month (came out at just over 8 stone from 11.5 when I went in) before they realised what was happening. Subsequently removed the part of my bowl that was then trapped by the healing torn tissue and i'm still technical a hernia risk due to the other lovely gash.
I did get a pretty nifty scar on my right arm, about a cm thick and 6 inches long.

that was an RX-8 wasn´t it?
looks bad
Yeah! You're the only person so far that has seen the pictures that could identify the car

They were surprised it wasn't worse as it's only a wankle engine so not quite as much to get through

When we were kids my younger brother dived into the pool when we were on holiday at the shallow end and knocked himself out. I dived under and got him out but if I hadn't been there for whatever reason, he'd have drowned as there was no one else there and no lifeguard.
On perhaps the next holiday we were sharing a room and pushed the beds together so we could listen to the cd player with an earphone each. We both fell asleep and he had managed to roll over so he was in the middle of the two beds. They'd been slowly slipping apart and the cord of the earphones had wrapped around his neck so it was pulling tighter like a noose. His feet then thudded to the floor as the beds slipped apart and he was being held up by his neck with the chord round it when my mum came in as she'd heard the noise. I was still asleep as I was a really heavy sleeper back then so he was lucky my mum heard. Proper final destination style.

Been extremely close to being hit by a speeding car while walking across the street. I even had a fucking green light.
And two traffic accidents, both when being the passenger....damn scary shit

I'm a retard and snapped my leg in half (Literally in half, my foot came round at a 90 degree angle and kicked me in the side) at the shin on a childs roundabout while camping once :/ My Dad was harassing me (I was young btw, like 13 I guess?) too go outside and play with the other kids, but I didn't wanna 'coz they were all like 7 and really annoying... So I finally went out, jumped on this roundabout decided to put my leg through the bar to stop me falling off... Turns out I fell off anyway, but my leg didnt... Neither did the roundabout, half a second later SNAP "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" a cloud of dust as I'm dragged along the floor hysterical and then I lie there in agony for about 10 minutes while about 30 people come out of tents etc to gather round and make sure I'm okay. My Dad refused to come down under the guise that I'd probably just "sprained (my) ankle"... Until 10 minutes later he wanders down too see what all the fuss is about... Ahaha, he was always a bit of a tnuc
I know that's not really near death, but I can't think of a good one too say atm (There's quite a few, but none that interesting, best I guess involves being pulled down a road on a skateboard attached to two fully grown Dobermans going around 30mph)

appendicitis when i was 11, came closer than some as the appendix had ruptured and I had to have my insides flushed out, but i wouldn't exactly call it 'near death'. spent 10 days in hospital afterwards.

did it just improve as you got older or?
