So are we saying that - like politics - there cannot be a "perfect system" because what comprises the system (people) are incapable of perfection themselves?

older heads should post some good topics that interest them or contribute/bump good older threads that died a premature death - blawan thread, techno/house production thread, gain structure/macc thread, percussion thread, blahblahblahblah...etc.
how about a brutal electro appreciation thread? better than modern talking imo

Nicely worded and probably true.
It gets pretty much esotirical and vague from this point. Personally i never strive for perfect because it cant be defined. Also i take joy in making anything i enjoy listening to myself, which is a far cry from perfection, but is still held to high standards.
Perfection is a very counter-productive standard to hold, as it is not only subjective, but also limiting. It will without exception lead to alot of procrastination, unneeded comparison to peers or anyone at all, and denying of happy accidents.
As Dj Shadow said; 'the music is coming through me'. The result matters, not the source.

there's no sense in it, because they get buried by the multitude of other threads in a matter of a couple hours

Last one out turn the lights off, okay?
It's what you make it. If you want good threads, make good threads...don't sit around complaining about the lack of good threads. Counterproductive.
