This day has gone pretty sweet. Work is chilled, people are nice, nothing too stressful, and a shit load of new beats to listen to.

Wub you seem to have a relatively good atmosphere to work in by the sounds of it. And the fact you can find time to listen to beats at work, chop up breaks etc. I wish I could do that, but with how busy I am all day it's just not gonna happen.
A good upside to this week though is that I finally finished processing the drums on my new track, so can now get to working on the mid range stuff.

Yeah, it's not too shabby. Plus I can watch iPlayer if I'm sly about it.

I know, right? I have a whole boatload of Coltrane I'd be happy to burn for him.
You know the story about Frank Sinatra and his duet with Kenny G?
Basically, all the guests on Frank's album of duets were recorded separately after Frank'd done his vocal take. So the album comes out, does really well, and there's some big banquet going on to celebrate it. Kenny G walks over to Sinatra's table and says "Mr. Sinatra, I just wanted to let you know that it's been just the biggest honor of my life to play on your record." Sinatra apparently doesn't hear him though and acts as if he's not even paying attention. Kenny G clears his throat, repeats the same thing, and gets the same response. He walks away obviously crestfallen.
The guy sitting next to Sinatra (Ahmet Ertegun, I think) taps Frank and says "Hey man, what'd you do that for? The guy was trying to pay his respects to you."
Sinatra turns and blasts, "Do you
know who that was?
That was Kenny Fucking G! Christ...."
'Nuff said right there.

burn him the Coltrane, be like "yea i noticed you seem to enjoy, erhm.... jazz, or at least the saxophone. Here's some 'older stuff' you might like. You're welcome."
Maybe Art Blakey's jazz messengers could be a nice starting point, given the name of the group.

Yeah, the only down side. I started a new beat (110bpm for some reason, not sure how that happened) last night and am itching to get back to it. Have to spend a day watching YouTube and cutting up african drum records instead. C'est la vie.
