On FL. Can you sync your midi to the piano roll so that it records on there when you play through a keyboard?

yes you can, plug in your midi controller and turn it on before opening FL. It should autosense it, if not you may have to check out the midi settings. If it is working playing a note on the midi controller should play the same note on whatever synth or channel is selected. If this happens, all you have to do is press the record button next to the play button and bash away.

Does that make it go on the piano roll though?

I didn't think it did, atleast it didn't when i was trying it.

Try hitting record, playing your notes, then stopping record.

You guys are geniuses!

Basically I had the overdub enabled for some stupid reason, so it would only record one bar at a time. It was messing with my head and now it's not.

Automation. I love you.

You too DSF!

(PS: Saw rusko, neo, datsik, kaskade, avicii, crystal method, and a bunch of other awesome people yesterday. Feeling inspired)

I was wondering if there is any way to have for example 1 zone on my axiom 49 to control FL`s live playlist and have another zone to control a synth. Or any other example of controling and switching between synths without having to mark that channel without my mouse, i want to use only my midi controller`s midi messages to switch between synths and play them. More simple, how do I set up two zones on my keyb and play two different synths. From c3 - c4 massive, from c#4 - c7 synth 1. Thanks.

in the midi settings you can select the midi channel to control the live playlist. In the pattern box/list of instruments click the button next to the sequence steps, it should turn green to show active. midi channel 1 controls the first/top instrument, channel 2 the second, ect. You'll need to spend a bunch of time setting up your midi controller but it should do what you want. Just figure out how to change the channels/notes and save scenes on the axiom and you should be able to set it all up.

You know how you make your patterns, and you put them on the playlist (not the blocks, the clips), is there a way to make it so that if I drag the end of it to make it shorter, it stops playing? When I do it it just keeps playing. I want it to act like an audio clip with it being an audio clip.

I know what you mean, it's really annying. So far the only way i can see is to not let the note start in the first place. If it starts, it will play all the rest of the note that's in the piano roll, whether it's shown on the playlist or not. I assume you are using massive, thats when i encounter it.

Also, check your envelopes. Make sure there's not a long sustain/release on it.

Just clone the pattern and shorten up the midi note wherever you need to! It's a pain in the ass sometimes but it's better than settling for something less.
