Thanks ognslinger. Interesting because I actually dropped them down thinking they were too loud. haha =P

I like what you've done with the remix, but I feel that the mid-range wobble is probably a bit too overdone.

I think your rework of the vocals is really done quite well, you've matched it up really well :)

Man, space-out is a great name for it. Really love the space and atmosphere you're using. Also really love that synth at around 1.13. Fits really nicely. Maybe just a tad too much panning on that one though?

You said my track has nice ideas but need work - totally agree, but what work are you referring to? I mean I have a list of stuff already but maybe you've identified some other things :)

Would this make the other reverbs muddy though, as they're all kinda dancing around the same frequencies?

after taking another listen to your tune i've decided the drums are fine :P what i meant to say is that they are a little quiet when they first start in the intro,

i was thinking when the drums start in the intro, you could see what it would be like to remove the first kick or two and see what its like just with the hats if you know what i mean?

and thanks, and yea i gotta tone it down a little, but i kinda like it as it is right now :D

Ah k I see. I'll have a play and see what I can do with it - might be worthwhile as you suggested to maybe keep the hats right from the start and go from there. Thanks slinger :)

amphibian wrote: @rayman - not really sure what to say. Not something I would listen to usually so not sure what to critique. Sounds and samples used seem to be rather well balanced but (this could be my crappy headphones at work), there seems to be a distinct lack of bass. This could be a decision though to support the tribal sound?
hmm :? it's pretty much all really low bass, i might add some higher frequency bass, or mess around with the eq a little bit, thanks for bringing that up though

Some variation in your lead synth wouldn't go astray, as well as breaking up the drums and giving it some variety. I like the bass/lead you used in the intro, kinda acidish :)

@ reignz Stop being so good at music. Seriously.

@ Bassmagnet some amazing vibes going on in this tune, seriously loving the grooves going on, great percussion, great pads, lovely melodic movement, reminds me of prefuse 73 or some mental trip hop, really really love this piece man, seriously great work. :D

@ JayZest nice ambience during the intro, liking the percussion you've got going, and all the movement in the pads, I think a little more variation all round would do it a lot of good, could be a pretty big tune when it's done :)

ogunslinger I can't get your tune to work for some reason :( sorry man

@ tek_selecta nice work on this man, good sample usage I think maybe you've gone a little wild on the delay, but that's just personal taste I guess 1.54 = awesome. Nice tune man, and I don't usually like this style either but I really enjoyed this when it all kicked in.

@ amphibian - lovely sounds in that intro, very ambient and the drop doesn't dissapoint either. Reminds me of the music for Goldeneye for the N64 only much better of course. Lovely work on putting this all together, all the sections blend well into one another. Not a single bad thing to say man. Props. Oh stop double posting :P it's driving me nuts lol. EDIT YOUR POSTS MAN!!!! :P

@ ironik good sounds but a bit more variation wouldn't hurt imo

Soundcloud

/\ I plan on getting some vox laid down on this some time soon, I'm thinking rap? Not usually into rap to be honest, but it feels kinda right? Not sure, I might just get a woman in on it, haven't decided which way to go yet if I'm honest. But I think when the vocals are down it'll all gel together pretty well and sound pretty good.

@kaiori: I wish your tracks tripped off the tongue more! O/J...nice track drums sound a little quiet on these shitty headphones, probably why though, like thew way you've meshed together that lead instrument and the harp sorta sounding one. Nice

@ironik: Bit more variation on that synth as someone said and that will be a good track...

Here's my track, gone with Killer Instinct samples, needs a clean up though@

Soundcloud Some fb would be wicked.

Nice! Like it alot... wouldn't be cool if you had some space in there just to break the lead synth up abit?

love it! Nice and chilled. Haven't got anything to say about it in criticism! Wouldn't really listen to it in a club but would defiantly listen to it at home!

I'll drop you gys a whole fb post tomorrow when I got some more time
Real nice man... great sample and i got a nice mix of hard and chilled vibes

Ok, so now time for mine, quick background beacause ive never done this before. This is my second go at production on reason4 with no background in production. I used to play drums in a band and then got into electronic music and thought i would have a go at mixing and then about 5 months ago started producing. Kind of busy moving back to my home town and working so getting stuff out but slowly.

here it is..( a link and in my signature) not sure if it had to go in here or finished tracks because i dont know how to master and eq properly yet.

I think we should all leave three instances of feedback when asking for crit otherwise this thread will just turn into a shouting contest with no winners...
