Loop points will loop the sound, if you don't want that, activate the volume ADSR envelope. No attack, full sustain, no release.

My friend was telling me how he set his controller up in Logic so when he moused over a parameter the knob on the controller would change it so he only had to use one knob for everything. Any way to do this on FL?

Yep. Totally forget how to do it though. Just check the manual for last tweaked or something like that. I think you can even get the last two touched software controls to automap.

Is there a way when rewiring/routing outputs on a synth to make the mixer register it as "taken"

What I mean is, if you launch a synth with 4 outputs, set the synth to channel 1; open the syths outputs to get in channels 2,3,4.

If you load a kick drum and press ctrll+L (Assign to free mixer track) it'll assign it to channel 2, like there isn't anything assigned to it but there IS.

I have been loading "dummy" channels (empty samplers) and setting them to 2,3 and 4 but surely this is a work around for something which 'shouldn't' need a work around. Not to mention if you have a 16 channel synth up and using 10 of those outputs, it gets messy as you have 10 empty samplers up..

After all these years, I just manually assign everything. Just click on the synth, and in the upper right hand corner of the channel settings, send that f'er to the channel you want. I know ctrl l is quicker. Maybe ctrl L it then do the rest manually?

This is a good feature request, I'd lob it over at their forum.

Oh, and what synth are you using that has 10 outs?

Well, Kontakt; its not a synth but I call all vsts a synth.

I was trying to build something with 8 oscillators in Reaktor which let you route every one to a mixer which had sends. I had a delay, reverb and phaser on each send.

Turns out shit like that get CPU heavy very easily and it was scrapped (due to it peaking at 80% CPU on open) but an interesting concept; even though it was all internal.

Yeah I feel you on that. Had the same thought. With all these bro's about, I was thinking a synth with separate outs for each osc, following a filter and fx chain and all that. Would save them a tun of time and potential disaster with freq splitting and whhhaaat not.

I searched and read but I'm still stuck. Ive tried googling but I cant seem to phrase it right for google to yield the results I desire. Any more help?

Tweak a software knob, then:

Go to Tools>Last Tweaked>Override Volatile Link...

And then move the knob that you want to be your master knob, now, anything you touch with the mouse will be controlled by that knob.

You can do the same for >Next To Last Tweaked, and have two knobs that will control the last touched, and the next to last touched.

Thanks a lot, this should improve my efficiency a lot :W:

Oh jeez, I do it another way; didn't even know about this way haha!

I tweak whatever I want to automate on the synth > go to the down arrow > Browse Parameters (it'll go the last one I tweaked) > right click > link to controller> tweak the knob on my controller.

Doesnt that bind the knob to that parameter only? I wanted it so i could click a parameter and control it with a knob, click another and that same knob would then control that parameter so I can be lazy and not have to bind everything

That is something different.

Leg, you are talking about binding a knob to a software knob. Brothullu is asking something different, he's asking how to set up a hardware knob that control any software knob that you have just touched.

not sure about rewiring really, but just try opening fl normally, go new project > new from template > minimal > empty (something like that anyway)

then next time it loads it should load empty, even while rewired I think.
