I wouldn't say that dubstep is in a lull. But we want to be forwarding. So we should do new things. How about some other rythm measures. I got a track that's somehow dubby with middle eastern flavor which got a 6/8th-measure and is very dancable (at least for me). By the way it can be downloaded here: http://www.razmesinai.com/mp3/badawi-bedouin_raid.mp3
That would be one way of progression. And of course what already has been mentioned: No cheese, no purism, no subgenres, no No.

There never were any.

no shit Paulie...

...you don't get babes at dubstep gigs ???

hmmm...well i see the problem right there then

someone needs to go out to all the local clubs and bars an hour before the gig with free entry and first drink tickets for the ladies and hand em out...

...jeez man, last thing I want to look at is a butt ugly DJ and his spotty mates getting lagered

there was a massive gang of girls at FWD last week, that group taking up one quarter of the dancefloor alone. and there's always girls at DMZ.

so is Paulie ghey then or were they all what we call bushpigs and not worth mentioning

There are a few more girls at DMZ (no more than 70/30 though), but Forward is famously male-centric.

The girls who have recently been down at Forward are more there for the grime, anyway.

Most of them are pretty ugly. Eastern Europe is way better for women.

hope i didn't offend you Paul

...I really do need to exercise some form of self restraint sometimes

I tend to find you have to be able to dance really well to be able to get on to the beat for a lot of dubstep or at least be able to dance to your own beat cos sooner or later you will come back into time again anyway...

...so these grimey MC's bring theri own girls then ???

We got some nice women here, polynesian hybrids...

...an most of em can cook too

No girls in the UK can cook, so most of them eat unhealthy processed food. This makes them fat. They also feed their kids the same stuff, making them fat. One of the many useful effects of feminism.

To be fair, Brit girls can't be accused of being shy in that department.

Interesting discussion... weird to note though that in general, it seems to be the half-steppas who insist on purism in DJ sets, and the break-step fans that seem to be open minded to hearing from all corners of the scene.

Been lurking for a while, but feel provoked to comment.

Ignoring the recent arsehole comments, and getting back to the topic, what I don't understand on this forum is what the actual issue is with this rift in the scene. Can anyone fill me in? I don't hear anyone on this thread except Blackdown supporting djs like Hatcha and Youngsta. And I'm not sure how much everyone else's complaints are just motivated by bitterness and self-interest at being excluded? Can anyone clarify this?
