Do you know the story of why he quit RCHP just after they became mega-famous with Blood Sugar Sex Magic? It`s interesting, kind of disheartening and too long for me to write it right now.....

Yeah, kind of. Apparently, he heard voices in his head telling him that all the new fame was bad so he quit at the start of their global tour for BSSM. He then did so much crack and heroin over the next 6 years his teeth fell out. He also didn`t know how to shoot up properly so he used the `stab and poke method`, developing something like gangrene abcesses over the tops of his arms. His house burnt down in a fire, losing a sizeable collection of vintage instruments and probably a lot of sentimental value. His solo albums were partly to continue to do something with life and partly to fund his addiction on top of his RCHP royalty cheques (one album was later deleted at his request because he thought it was so bad and only released it for money - the guy still wanted some artistic integrity amidst all that...). He realised he had a problem when he gave a taxi driver a $30,000 tip. I think he went to rehab but anyway his old band took him back as their friend, one of them still. They paid for teeth to be reconstructed from his femur because he couldn`t afford it himself.

Why in the world wouldn't he use that opportunity to get a gold grill? I know a guy who grew up in the hood who would use a piece of Rollos wrapper to cover his tooth everyday when he went to school... it is instacred.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. The price has shot up but I'd guess it's over-inflated now, as people get more confidence in companies and national economies they'll go back to investing in them.

Gold is seen as a more stable investment when economies go shakey because people all over the world are basically idiots that like to show off their wealth with rare shiney things....so unless the whole global economy collapses there is always an international market for your gold, investing in companies or national currency can be more risky.

For Jaws' (from James Bond) teeth, they used tin foil wrapped
around an orange peel.

Ah just looked, just said he "left the band". Anyone heard his electronic stuff? Absolutely awful.

RHCP tho :U: John Frusciante was one of the guys that made me learn the guitar.
