You fucking idiot.deadaelus wrote:Why do so many producers make there tracks at exactly 140bpm?
This makes it way to easy for people to mix, and subsequently drawing the wrong type of people toward mixing dubstep.
Thoughts?
this is almost an entirly diffrent subject, regardless ableton enables peop;e to be more creative thann ever before,,,,i dont see it as a bed thing at all as long as its being utilized as a tool for creativity.deadaelus wrote:i guess the point i was originally trying to make is that a bunch of junior dj's at 15-16 years old are not learning to actually mix music.
We might as well all get traktor or ableton and let it auto synch our music for us so we can spend more time with our hands in the air in true tiesto style.
Dubstep is a good style of music with regard to groove and variety, and it can be challenging to mix if you are really working that angle. But to get up on stage and take 5 Bar9 tracks all at exactly 140 bpm, you are missing out.

Word. Like attracts like..being negative is just gonna destroy your scene! It's the killing factor! Just IGNORE bs and focus on QUALITY. Your attention is your weapon!jjonesmusic wrote:Wrong kind of people?!!? Dubstep is for anyone and everyone. If my nan likes dubstep and wants to play a whole Bar 9 set then thats brilliant. I'd think that is fucking amazing. If 15- 16 year olds like and want to mix then let them. To much negativity. Not enough love!

Argh, being medicated and the general prospect of Daedelus producing some dubstep / generally mixing it got me wet & didn't take note of spelling.Little Boh Peep wrote:He's not Daedelus, the producer from Los Angeles. Different spelling.gwa wrote:Oh and out to Daedelus, stop fucking with your magic box and do some DJ sets for once. (Near me)
I honestly don't see the correlation between easy mixes and "undesirables", or if there were, how that would in any way be a threat to seasoned DJs...
good point, it makes me wonder though if people are really producing songs just to be able to exist in a mix with a random mix of other songs, or if producers see their tune as something that should be heard without being blended in amongst tracks.CHIMPO wrote:i think its good most dubstep is 140
it means the tunes are played how theyre supposed to sound
if you've got to pitch a tune up or down to much you can lose the power thats supposed to be there
eg. you can make a tune and bosst the sub at a frequency that rattles the chect perfectly
if you pitch it up or down to much you can lose the the impact of that sub
you just realised dubstep is 140bpm?deadaelus wrote:Why do so many producers make there tracks at exactly 140bpm?
