there seems to be a trend of talentless people sitting there hitting buttons on a freaking apc40 and calling themselves djs. THEY ARE NOT DJS! instead i would call them posers.

i am personally holding the opinion that there should be producers and there should be djs. what happens when a producer has to dj or the other way around is you get a half assed product. im not saying that everyone that djs cant make a track or the producers can spin but to really be at the top of your game in either you dont have time for the other.

with that being said all of these jackasses that sit there and line up their tracks in ableton then hit the button to trigger the song ( and mind you they dont even have to hit the fucking buttons in time ) need to step down and let the big boys do the work on the decks. for fucks sake a retarded monkey can sit there and hit buttons.....

as far as medium id like to see you get the sound digitally like i get analog. you will never get that sound as hard as you try. you may come close but you wont get a cigar.

people that laptop dj/mix should use it to it's fullest potential basically

if theyre just mixing on drops using ableton track after track with no interesting jiggery pokery happening then they lack imagination

you cant achieve as much with decks as you can with ableton

Well, it actually does since you can't even see SNH without logging in.

I pretty much only care about the sound that comes out of the speakers. Would you prefer they all played "proper" instruments too? All these synths must make your blood boil, you fucking Luddite.

now dont get me wrong. to make mixset in your studio like that is fine but id suggest doing that all the old fashioned way. when you go out live and do that you are missing an element that goes with the live show.

i have a buddy that is doing all of that shit with digital tracks and serato and hes getting my respect but i still havent seen anyone do what this kid is doing. here is a live sample of his shit

i gotta disagree strongly here, don't blame the equipment but the people, i've seen half arsed vinyl dj's too, you gotta include selection, timing, musicality rhythm, which basically is the same whether you use a laptop or vinyl or whatever.

Exactly. Whilst I can't fucking stand the dickheads who sit behind Virtual DJ lining up tracks, pressing 'sync' and then letting them roll, every so often you find DJs who use it because they can do things on it that you can't do with decks.

Still, fuck the stnuc who sit on iTunes clicking shit and then go "yo bruv, did you see me DJ that party, it was so cash!"

Ableton offers waayyy more possibilities. Thing is, if I'm listening to someone mixing live with Ableton, I'm expecting him to use these possibilities.

I say this thread has a good point!

But, if you have like good producers, that start dj'ing, that's just because they won't make any money with the tunes. Because we live in a world where everybody is too damn selfish to give a bit of money to good music.. So yeah, basicly, having to hear shitty dj's like piston who like to play the badman with ableton and CD's is our own fault
