horror show is fantastic. ok... i guess it's not what you'd wanna play out, perhaps, but if you're geeking out on a big system and the time is right, that tune is perfect.

i think a lot of the sort of tracks he's playing right now sound like minimal house or the first few bars of a florida breaks track (and i love florida breaks)... that sicko cell tune by joy orbison for example... has a real florida spacing to it in my opinion. very sick. i can't say enough about understatement (haha!) the roughness lies in the subtlety and repetition.

Yes but what I meant is if you put yourself at the time when Horror Show came out, it was something completely new (Mala said it in redbull music academy i think) and it's been like that ever since with Loefah, when he was done with the sinister bassy ambiance, he just turned to something else and there again with Swamp81 he's pushing the boundaries. I don't know what dubstep would be like without him, but I assume there would be something less.

If there was ever a guy (DJ/producer) who could get me to step out of my current comfort zone, it would be Loefah. I like the way he's been on the outskirts of DMZ but also part of it, you know? Because I've enjoyed so many of his productions, im willing to give his DJ selections that don't fit my usual style a second look, if you get me. "pushing the sound/boundaries" is a good way of saying it. obviously i don't love EVERYTHING he shares, but the ones i DO like, i never would have come across on my own and they've opened up a whole different wing of the castle that is electronic music.
