Screwing songs?

how would i go about screwing a song? would i just toss the wav in FL and slow it down?
it seems easy enough, but when i tried it, it sounded pretty shitty

Didn't know there was terminology for this been doing little mix sessions like this.
Slowed down garage mixes with hip hop and the like thought I was finding a niche'

sounds like the vocals were pitched down, then the whole track was stretched. try pitching stuff down so it slows down like a turntable. or get the record and play it in the strong playback speed. granular stretching can really screw things up too.

There are many more ways you can "screw" a song. Try bitcrushing different parts of it or maybe even pitch some parts up. Or maybe gate a bunch of your tracks?

Just pitch it down, preferably on turntables or CDJs. DJ software would work too I guess. Do a lot of hard cutting with the crossfader and/or loop points.
