Imitating other artists’ sounds is a perfect way to practice, but be honest to yourself about what you want to create. Not hearing back from big names when you send them stuff is very common, don’t let that stop you from working towards your goals. The most important one is finish tunes. You will never get anywhere with dozens of 16 bar loops that kind of sound like what you’re after: practicing composition and incorporating proper musical elements and structure is more important than getting a Noisia-quality mixdown after a year of producing.
