But almost all promoters are dicks. unreliable, and just downright fucking liars half the time. Anyone else tired of having to deal with promoters?

Somebody has to do the warm up sets... It's normally yourself, for about a few months and then if he promoters doesn't put you on at a decent time he's a dick.

Contrary to poplur belief, verbal contracts are enforceable, provided the contract formations have been made, i.e offer, acceptance and consideration.

Nowt wrong with warmup sets, but they shouldn't come with a ticket selling proviso IMO

I reckon most promoters start out with the best intentions but then they start worrying too much about profit and not losing cash for the first 8/9 months and the best intentions go out the window along with their sense of decency and ability to keep their word.

2) it also sounds like you're replacable. If you brought anything of value to the promoter, you'd be put on. Maybe they're just being nice and humoring you, because no matter how they tell you no, you're not going to like the answer. Only you can get your own hopes up.

I've been to the beach recently but thats another story
The promoter said yes your definitely booked, multiple times, we agreed on a fee and set time. then out of the blue Im not on the flyers and the guys just stonewalling me, so I wouldnt say I was being humoured. I think hes just been fucking with me for 6 months

Don't really have any experience of club-night promotion but have years of experience of live music promotion, by and large most of the promoters I've worker with have been very professional and known what they're doing. Obviously you get a few useless ones who are just a bit inept and a few unscrupulous bastards who operate pay-to-play type shit but they never last long because once word gets out amongst bands/fans nobody will work with them and even fewer people will go to their shows, self regulating system really

Its probably me being slightly naive I guess, its hellishly frustrating dealing with people like this, sadly in my local area promoters like this are the rule and not the exception

u guiz must be big shots since u have promoters and all but round here the thing goes like so that you book yourself at the club and get paid 150 euros per night standard. and that's a low pay
